Potente is a sophisticated and upscale Italian restaurant located in downtown Houston led by Executive Chef Danny Trace. Every dish is locally sourced and uses only the highest quality ingredients. Try our chef favorite homemade pasta with black truffles shaved table side, petite filet with pistachio gremolata and homemade desserts sure to delight!

Our attire is relaxed formal. Shorts, hats, sneakers, torn clothing and sweat pants not permitted.

    My first time at Potente and it completely exceeded my expectations. It’s officially one of my top restaurants in Downtown Houston. Impeccable service, stunning location, delicious food with beautiful presentation, couldn’t have nicer, friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff. Loved everything about it. I can’t wait to be back.

    We’ve been to Potente numerous times and the food and ambience are always top notch. This time service was a little slow and chaotic; numerous servers bringing food to the wrong tables not just for us. The initial person who took our drink orders was actually at the wrong table but our waitress for the rest of the evening was excellent. Definitely recommend Potente.

    What a wonderful way to celebrate Valentine's Day! The food was outstanding. Chef Danny did a great job with the menu and his staff executed a wonderful evening. Thanks again Potente for another delicious meal with nice service.

    Potente was excellent as usual. No complaints. The Tuna appetizer was excellent along with snapper entree. The pasta dish with truffle is the best I’ve had anywhere. Will be going back. Have eaten there several times.

    Excellent Valentine’s Day menu. Delicious food such as the branzino fish, ahi tuna crude, and spaghetti Al Tarugo Nero.

    It was an outstanding evening from start to finish. The food was perfect. The drinks divine. The menus themselves were innovative and exciting. The staff was professional and personable, intelligent and informed. Highly recommend this gem!
