   Great food and service, they have a great Wine Menu and could get an amazing Pinot Noir along with a very nice Rib Eye. Overall excellent meals and great ambiance.

   My wife and I had dinner recently at Prins and Aap. We had heard some good things about the restaurant, and we decided to give it a try during the week we were spending in Amsterdam on holiday: Our dining experience was hugely disappointing. We ordered fresh oysters, vegetarian samosas and a dish featuring soft shell crab. The oysters were mediocre at best - of questionable freshness, lacking flavor, not nearly cold enough, and one of the four had apparently been mangled in the shucking, as it arrived at the table in several pieces. The samosas were passable, with a nice filling that featured potatoes and peas, and a decent crust, but they were not well seasoned and seemed bland as a result. The soft shell crab was dominated by a very thick and heavy fried coating that lacked all the qualities of delicate crispness that make well fried foods such a seductive treat. And, amazingly, inside the heavy, overcooked coating, the crab itself was so alarmingly mushy as to be inedible. All in all, the food was barely third rate. Perhaps this was an anomaly that could be chalked up to a bad night in the kitchen, but it is the only experience we have to go on, and it was so strikingly unsatisfactory that we feel compelled to it. The service was fine, and our server, observing that we had barely touched the crab dish, offered to bring us a complimentary dessert as compensation. A nice gesture, of course, but far too little too late in our judgment; by that time we simply wanted to cut our losses and put Prins and Aap in the rear view mirror.

   The food was great, the only bad thing was we weren’t sitting at the table even after we made the reservation already.

   Wir sind sehr enttäuscht von dem Laden, unsere Silvesterbuchung für Canape und Cocktails haben sie nicht hin bekommen! Wir hatten über opentabel gebucht mit Bestätigungsmail. Alternativ wurde uns ein 3mal so teures Silvester Menü angeboten! Frechheit

   The staff and ambiance were lovely, but the wait time on food was terrible. It took me two hours to have a main course and dessert. After waiting to order, it was 20 minutes to get water, 40 minutes for food, and another 40 minutes for dessert and a cappuccino. The other tables around me were also increasingly frustrated with their wait times.

    Nice ambiance but a bit overpriced food for value. Vers small portions, not many vegetarian options.
