   9 widows & 1 widower all met for Afternoon Tea. What a lovely experience. Food was good & place was lovely. Parking excellent. Will definitely return. Only comment would be. . .. scones could be better

   Our server was so attentive and lovely - really made my mums birthday ! The afternoon tea spread was lovely and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves . Thank you !

   On arrival to the hotel there was no one on reception and after waiting for a few minutes I had to wonder around the place to find someone to help us. In general the food was ok, however the scones were disappointing very dry and when you cut into them they crumbled to pieces. Whilst the waiter was accommodating at times there were two of three members of staff standing round the bar area having conversations which could be heard over our conversations. For example one was telling another his duties for the day which when you are trying to have a relaxing afternoon tea was a bit distracting.

   Booked for a Birthday treat and added Prosecco. We were seated at a table for 2 and were the only guests. We were given a tea menu and informed top ups or changes to the tea were free. Prosecco was brought followed quickly with the sandwiches and cakes and fillings were explained. These were limited and very ordinary. Cheese, egg, ham and salmon. Sandwiches were room temperature; not cool. We were asked if everything was ok and mentioned the temperature of the sandwiches. We were told that these were kept in a cooler until 20-30 minutes before they were served. Not sure why this would happen especially considering food hygiene and the sandwich fillings. Were told our comments would be passed on to the chef. After about 5mins another server asked how everything thing was and another 5mins another server asked. The cakes were ok but the scones had so much bicarbonate of soda that they were hard and dry and it could be tasted. Communication within the team seemed lacking! All personnel were pleasant and polite but the food was lacking. When paying we were offered the prosecco as an apology. A very disappointing experience, especially as it was to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately will not be repeating the experience.

   Had a lovely afternoon tea that I treated my daughter to for her birthday. Service was great, food was lovely and price was reasonable. It was very quiet wit lovely calm music playing in the background. We were very well looked after by the staff.

   Disappointing Father's Day Afternoon Tea at Priory Restaurant I regret to say that our Father's Day afternoon tea experience at the Priory Restaurant in Hitchin Priory Hotel was thoroughly disappointing. For £24 per person, we expected a delightful and memorable outing, but what we received was far from it. First and foremost, the food was incredibly dry and tasteless. The selection of sandwiches was very poor, with fillings that were both unimaginative and unappealing. The presentation did little to help matters, as the sandwiches were haphazardly arranged and looked unappetizing. The tea, which is supposed to be the highlight of an afternoon tea experience, was a huge letdown. It was clear that the tea was bought from a supermarket, offering nothing special or unique. We were hoping for a selection of fine teas to choose from, but what we got was bland and uninspiring. Adding to the disappointment was the non-existent service. The staff was very difficult to find and, when we did manage to locate someone, they seemed to have no clue what they were doing. This lack of attention and professionalism further diminished the experience, making it feel disorganized and neglected. Overall, the experience was not worth the £24 per person we were charged. The quality of the food and tea did not justify the price, and we left feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. I would not recommend the Priory Restaurant for an afternoon tea experience, especially if you are looking for something special to celebrate a meaningful occasion.

    Went to the Priory Hotel for Sunday dinner yesterday for the first time and highly recommend!! 🤤 The food was lovely and the service was spot on! I had the roast chicken and my husband had the roast beef and both were lovely. We were served by David and Luke and they really couldn’t do enough for us, so friendly and very happy in their roles. Can honestly say it was one of the nicest Roasts I’ve had in Hitchin
