   What a great afternoon of food to celebrate an anniversary. A wonderful gesture was a card wishing us a happy anniversary signed by all the staff waiting for us at our table. This kind of attention to detail is always so welcomely received. We weren’t drinking alcohol today so had bottles of sparking water. We were served an amouse-bouche of a crispy cracker topped with a truffle cream and a peanut. Starters We had confit skate with a crab bisque sauce and chicken liver parfait with a croissant. Mains Doddington lamb with Jerusalem artichoke purée and an anchovy dressing. Monkfish with poached leeks and mussel escabeche. Both beautifully presented and tasted glorious. Dessert I nearly always have the cheese option for dessert and this was the best I’ve ever had. The combination of Cote Hill Blue cheese, Parkin and a Damson jelly was taste perfection. The other dessert of salted caramel slice with Yorkshire rhubarb and a coffee cream was equally delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful making the entire experience memorable and comforting.    Good food well prepared with loveley flavours. Restaurant was relativeley quiet but nice relaxed meal. Everyone enjoyed their meal with vegetarian, fish and meat options!

   This was my second visit this month and both occasions were a delicious experience as always! From the moment you walk in until you leave the service is so attentive! Friendly and professional. Such an excellent team. Westgate is so lucky to have such a special place and long may it continue!
