   I had the chicken and waffles. Waffles were great. The issue was how the chicken was cooked and served. The menu said it was 4 pieces of bone in chicken. It was a half chicken. I was ok with that at first but the breading on the fried chicken fell off the skin completely on the other side. It had an odd flavor as if it was cooked in really old oil too. My daughter got the kids Mac n cheese. She couldn’t eat it. I mean she is 7 but mc n cheese is always a slam dunk. This time it was a technical foul. She only ordered that because they were out of Alfredo pasta. My wife ordered flank steak. It was overcooked and chewy. Her side were too seasoned. Loads of salt on the broccoli. The truffle fries were drenched in truffle oil. It made my wife sick. The waiter was not great. He took our drink order. Main course order. Delivered drinks and then was gone until after everything was well past fixable. Other people delivered our food. He ignored us until it was time to go. So we just paid and left. I I don’t enjoy writing this. I had high hopes for this place. They need to find out what happened last night with the chicken and fix that. Then seriously consider training the male staff member last night that was waiting near the entrance. I didn’t try their burgers. I wish I had. Fries were good that weren’t truffle fries.

   We felt honored that Ralph Simpson himself gave up his seat at our reserved table, graciously welcoming us to his place. Service was prompt and excellent, our salads with added proteins were fresh and delicious. Staff were fun and welcoming. Very glad we made a reservation, as it was pregame for a sold out UVA basketball game. Place was standing room only.

   We had an excellent experience! Our waitress was attentive and delightful. The food was fantastic. My husband had a burger, and I had the harvest salad with salmon. We were incredibly pleased with both.

   The food was excellent and the service was good. My salmon was well seasoned and cooked. The beans and rice were good and there was no issue substituting a side salad for collared greens. My wife got chicken and waffles. The chicken was fried well and had honey on it. The waffle was large. We will go back.

   Great first time experience. My wife and I both had burgers that were excellent and cooked to order. Seated quickly and the service was great.

    The food choices were better than other sports ber/restaurants I’ve been to. The service was good.
