We are excited to welcome you to Rania, DC's hottest destination for modern Indian food. Tom Sietsema has called our food "some of the most inspired Indian cooking in DC." At Rania, we offer homage to the time-honored traditions, rich flavors, and spices of India in an intimate, luxurious setting. We look forward to sharing our vision with you!

Presenting sophisticated, highly acclaimed 4-course prix-fixe menu, with an upcoming debut of our chef's tasting menu.

Policies:
-Dress Code: Smart Business Casual. No shorts, athletic wear, or baseball caps are allowed.
-Children under 10 are not allowed in the main dining areas.
-Reservations are available for parties of up to 6 people.
- A non-refundable deposit of $30 per person is required for parties larger than 5.
-A 20% gratuity will be added to all parties 5 or more.

We had a lovely time. The food is pretty spicy so the should be a warning on some dishes but the flavor was great!

I was really excited to dine here but the food fell short. I understand it’s fine dining but compared to other Michelin star experiences, I just don’t think the food was comparable. I do appreciate their vegetarian and gluten free options but in general food was just ok. The lamb chila and scallops were excellent. Gobi Manchurian should be served alongside something else. Pork and short ribs were fine. Srikhand was not flavorful enough. The chocolate desert had too much spice in it. It was distracting. Drinks were super creative and thoughtful. Dal and rotis that came out were nice to have but difficult to eat. Daal was also too thin. Would have been nice to have another small plate to go with these items.

Fantastic experience! Loved the menu variety and three-course set-up. Drinks at the bar were fantastic as well. Very creative cocktails. Great wine by the glass list. Live a few blocks down the street and look forward to return visits!

We have dined at several Michelin star Indian restaurants around the world and will have to say the food at Rania is mediocre. The service and ambience are good, but the food and drinks were well below our expectations.

Love this place. Nicely elevated Indian food. The drinks are to spectacular and have a little dram with each one. Mario was fantastic both this time and last. Loved it. Going back next month.

Wow wow wow what a delicious experience. Surprising in a great way. I'm so surprised the brunch experience isn't packed out. It's incredible and the value for money is out of this world.

The food was excellent, cocktails were awesome, and the waiter was great (he explained things well, took interest in our visit, etc.), and the bussers were on point. The only hiccup was the host/possibly a manager (who took our coats when we were seated) asked me to remove my hat midway through our 4-course meal. She said, “Sir, we do not allow anyone to wear a sports cap.” Instead of ruining my evening, I just took the hat off. However, there were a few deficiencies with that statement and request: 1. It wasn’t a sports cap. It was a dressy wool hat and I guess since I’m a male, I had to remove it because females within the restaurant were allowed to wear their hats. 2. I checked the website before I came for a dress code, which I did not see one listed. If it exist, it is not easily identifiable. 3. Why would they enforce it halfway through my dinner?! 4. There were some men with sweatshirts on in the restaurant, which is much more of a violation if there was/is a dress code than asking me to remove a dressy, winter hat. If there is a dress code and it’s left up to their subjective interpretation, then I’m not sure if I’ll be back because these types of requests are extremely outdated. Nothing about my outfit said “SPORTS!”

Celebrated two year anniversary at our first Michelin star restaurant, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The tenants of the staff and everyone was truly amazing. We were greeted by a personal note as well as complementary dessert for our anniversary. The food was absolutely delicious as well.
