"Comfort food from the mountains of Ethiopia" is the daily fare at Ras Dashen Restaurant. For more than 16 years, our Ethiopian restaurant in Chicago, IL, has been serving up authentic dishes and an authentic dining experience. Vegetarians and omnivores alike have a multitude of options they can choose from in our extensive menu. Our traditional Ethiopian meals are served on a round of Injera (spongy, sour bread made from Teff grains). 100% gluten free Injera is also an option with your meal. All of our dishes are prepared by chef Zenash the same way they have been for thousands of years with bold spices and tangy sauces of the region. Our food is so unique, we're sure you'll want to come back again and again.

We were there on a Monday night early, and it really filled up. It is delicious and fresh. I never enjoyed Ethiopian cuisine until now. Very pleasant.

We really enjoyed our meal. Our server was very helpful in selecting things that we would like. The entrees, sides, and injera were all very good. We look forward to going again.

My favorite restaurant in Chicago. It’s a smaller place so noise happens, the food is amazing so it’s worth it. I try to bring everyone I know here.

Very nice restaurant. Attentive and knowledgeable wait staff. Very nice décor and ambiance. The food was delicious and very well prepared. I will go there again the next time I am in Chicago. Well recommended.

FAVORITE RESTAURANT !! Food was delicious, service was incredible, everyone was so kind and considerate, noise was so low we could actually hear each other! Sat there for 3 hours and did not feel rushed at all. Best Ethiopian food in Chicago. And so affordably priced!!!
