We had reservations but has to wait 30 minutes for our table and another 10 to be greeted by our server. Then we were told that they had been taking walk-ins all day and had run therefore out of certain items on the thanksgiving day menu. We couldn’t have more bread, they had run out of the soup. And I’m not sure what kind of beef they served us but it was not prime rib. That said, both appetizers were good (although, again, we received shrimp cocktail instead of the peel and eat shrimp on the menu). And the side dishes were quite good as well. The portions were generous and there was plenty left over to take home. All in all, it was reasonably enjoyable.

The Good The amount, variety, and quality of food The service Seating was within 5 minutes of our reservation, puntual and appreciated Managers attentiveness, came by twice Server was kind The Bad When we were called to be seated hostess left us in the dust she walked away so quickly that my elderly grandmother with her cane could not keep up, hostess did not even look to see if we were behind her or notice our situation until she got to the table and saw we were nowhere in sight. We didn't know where she went so just stood awkwardly in the hall in front of the bar waiting for her to come back for us The Ugly My seat was so covered in food from previous guest I had to use my hand to knock all the large pieces of food to the floor then my napkin to clean the seat before I could sit Artichoke dip was cold in the center, lukewarm at best throughout Pacing of the meal was unorganized, salad arrived by itself and we had no plates and had to ask for them, main entrees arrived and again we had to ask for large plates because all we had were very small ones, used utensils were often taken which was nice, but then we would have to ask for new utensils because no one would bring us new ones if we just waited for them to realize we still hadn't gotten replacements Second time coming here for Thanksgiving, worse experience this time than 2 years ago. For $570 for 5 people I expect hot food and clean seats at the minimum.

Our reservation was at 4:30, we were seated at 4:15, our entrees did not arrive until 6:36. The service was extremely slow. The food was not as good as in the past. This was our 4th year and last year having Thanksgiving dinner at Ray's in the city

I would not recommend going on a holiday. As it was my first time going to Rays in the city. I was not very happy with the total outcome of my service. First of all my beer came out with a hot glass. My table was wobbly. The food was served family style, which was overcrowding my table because it was too small for two people to be served family style, there was a bucket of water spilled behind my fiancé , My plates came out like they just came out the dishwasher with water still on them the food itself was good although for Thanksgiving holiday there was no cranberry sauce serve But overall, it was not that bad. I don’t think I would return on a holiday.

I had guest from out of country and we wanted you experience a great Thanksgiving meal! I have been Ray’s on the River client for a long time but this experience was totally to the negative side of all my experiences at Ray’s! Very poor food quality, service and when talked to manager he didn’t care!

This was our first visit to the downtown location and it was a very good experience. Service is key and as with other Ray’s establishments, I was not disappointed. Clifford our service specialist was very friendly and attentive. Even on such a busy day, we did not feel slighted in any way. He answered our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. Good was good but dessert was a little underwhelming. Of course, it did not take away from the main course.

It was our first time doing this since It was just 3 of us. It was well worth it. I was nervous about the food as I'm used to a very traditional celebration with greens, mac and cheese, ham, turkey and yams to name a few. They had turkey, prime rib, honey glazed salmon (I eat this all the time just not on this day), brussel sprouts, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, choice of salad (we had our favorite which is caesar, and butternut squash soup which was delicious. We also had 3 small desserts to include pumpkin pie (i never eat this but it was delicious), pecan pie and some sort of cake. They were small bites but enough to get full and all delicious. We also had spinach dip for an appetizer along with chilled shrimp. We had a great time. It's going to be hard not to do it again for Christmas or any other holiday.

Bread was awful. We requested more horseradish and gravy - it never arrived. waiters spilled food on guests with no apology.
