The escargot is delicious! We both enjoyed the pistachio crusted sea bass with 4 sauces. Yum!

Rene’s has always been a favorite place but over the past 2 years too many menu changes have dampened my experience. The Seafood Tower is no longer on the menu. Escargot is served in a bowl with button mushrooms and covered in a flaky crust vs toast points. And the beef cheeks tasted like pot roast. Filet is divine! Sea bass is great and the lobster bisque is wonderful. So appreciated Jessica’s wine selections and we were able to exchange the beef cheeks for a fine filet… and dessert! Wonderful atmosphere

A lovely way to celebrate our tenth anniversary. The ambience is cozy and relaxed, felt European; our food was delicious - creative and a bit fancy but not overly and with the perfect combination of flavors; and our waiter, James, was engaged and attentive in just the right amount and way. A little pricey but what restaurant isn’t these days? We felt the value of the food and the experience was worth it. We loved it and will be back.

Rene at Tlaquepaque has been the Gold Standard for Fine Dining in Sedona for decades. We have always made it our go-to dinner spot when in the Verde Valley. Unfortunately, this is the worst experience we have ever had and may change any future plans. It seems there is more emphasis on making money from the one-time diner than trying to maintain a regular clientele. We were greeted and seated in the impeccably appointed dining room and informed of the specials including the bone in Ribeye $120.00 and the Rack of Lamb $90.00. The wine list has been greatly paired down as well though there are still some decent selections. We started with the Escargot which has always been a favorite. Instead of serving in the traditional containers, it is now mixed with mushrooms and served in a crock with puff pastry on top. Though it sounds interesting and looks great on presentation, once the pastry is cracked open, the actual escargot is over cooked and rubbery and there are way too many mushrooms in ratio. My wife ordered the Sea Bass special which came with a lobster tail. The Sea Bass was the lone standout of our meal. It was expertly prepared, buttery, tender, served on top of parsnip puree' and delicious. Unfortunately, the lobster was dry and overcooked. I chose the Salmon en Papillote which was advertised to be sealed in with herbs and dill yet somehow arrived tasteless and dry. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he said, "I was going to mention that several people had complained about it" yet he decided to not warm me instead. They used to excel in quality and service including a table-side preparation of Crepes' Suzzette which is no longer available. The current dessert selections are uninspired. There is one table side option of Banana Fosters for two available, but with a price of $32 was not worth it. I am not opposed to spending $300 for a nice dinner for two,

Expensive, but we were celebrating a special occasion and the food and service was definitely worth it. Everyone working there was friendly and knowledgable of their products. One in our group had in depth conversations with 2 of the employees regarding dry aging meat. Definitely a must try restaurant.
