   This brunch was an absolute triumph! I was thrilled to hear that they had just debuted a new brunch menu (not because it wasn’t already perfect before, but while some restaurants fail on change, Restaurant Forty Nine Forty thrives). The breakfast burrito with red and green chile was a revelation. The red chile itself was a masterpiece, coming dangerously close to rivaling my mom's (and hers is the gold standard!). The combination of ground beef, potatoes, and eggs was perfectly balanced. The blue corn piñon pancakes were a work of art and bursting with flavor. The maple syrup and fresh berry jam were the cherry on top. I can't wait to bring my dad here, as these are his ultimate breakfast fave and we’re always on the hunt for the perfect blue corn pancake. The pineapple mimosa was expertly crafted, exactly to my liking. The service was amazing, as always, and the atmosphere was perfect. Overall, it was an incredible brunch experience. We are so lucky to have such a gem in Corrales. I declare it the best restaurant in Albuquerque and its suburbs.

   We were pleasantly surprised with a new menu when we arrived today. Lots a great choices. We tried the breakfast burrito tacos and green chile cheese grits with the biscuit basket and roasted potatoes. Everything was outstanding, everything we saw going out to the tables around us looked amazing. My absolute favorite bite though was the lemon poppyseed scone in the biscuit basket. Delicious!

   I went in with high expectations because I have some friends that love the place. The service was great however the server only looked at my colleague never when I was speaking which was very weird. I had the empanadas, starter. It was ok. I did not taste any brie and I could not identify what was in it. I ordered a burger. I only ate 1/2 of it. It was dry and probably one of he worst burgers I have had in a while. The dessert was good. I love the environment. I would say work on some of the menu items. The food could be better. Buy a higher end of beef for your burgers -- maybe grass fed, It was terrible. Don't know if I will be back. maybe?

   Very uneven experience. The service was so, so slow. The food sat too long under the heat lamp. Burger was overcooked. It’s a good place to go for a drink and maybe appetizers. But that’s it.

   Service polite but very slow. We ordered and then a while later notified that one dish wasn’t available anymore. We gladly substituted and then a while later notified again that another dish wasn’t available. After a long while food arrived and was quite underwhelming. It was lukewarm and rather salty. The ravioli was not any better than Costco raviolis. I’ve been to 4940 before and the experience was far better.

   Entrees were solid tho our sides weren’t properly cooked. The wait time for entrees to arrive for a party of 3 was well over an hour and our server wasn’t attentive or very friendly. Would try again but definitely under different circumstances. For the price, definitely expected better.

   We loved sitting at the bar this visit to the ever fabulous 4940. Phil and Kat are absolutely wonderful and we had so much fun for our anniversary dinner. The food was spectacular, as always. Thank you for always being a special place for us!
