   We have always had an amazing food experience here at this amazing Center City staple. Garth is one of the most hands-on, respected and sincere restaurant owners we have ever ran into. He greets you like he's known you for years and is really invested in making sure his customers always have an intimate and delicious experience. My husband and I love the Retro Chic Style of the decor. Old world glam. Food never disappoints. Ever. Sometimes the waiters can be a little overwhelmed with too many tables, but they never leave you feeling ignored or too busy for you or your little requests. The lounge area is sophisticated. Definitely has its regulars which makes you feel right at home.

   Not a comfortable place and the service was poor. Pianist played good music but could’ve been a touch less volume.

   Just a beautiful restaurant and food was delicious. I had the prime rib, and it was the best I have had in a long time. Very relaxing meal. Prices are reasonable for this level of a restaurant.

   We had a lovely dinner at Rittenhouse Grill. The service was impeccable, food was outstanding and the ambiance was top notch! I highly recommend this restaurant!

   The food was good steakhouse food. The shrimp cocktail had nice, large shrimp. Only four of them for $28. Not a bargain, but a good dish. The steak and the roast beef entrees were properly prepared to the correct temperatures. The sauteed spinach was very well prepared. The wine selections were limited but reasonably well priced. We had a decent Burgundy for around $100, which isn't bad. The service was uneven. I don't know if they give the waiter too many tables to cover or what, but the waiter was attentive and then he would disappear for periods of time. Getting the bill at the end of the meal was a challenge--no one around to ask. The practice of automatically imposing a 20% tip on a table for two people is odd. Most places don't apply a minimum tip except on larger groups. Even in London, where automatic service charges are more common, it is presented as a suggested charge, not mandatory. The restaurant also charges for sauces on the meat. I don't like that practice either. Overall, the restaurant was a bit dated, the menu was a typical steakhouse menu, nothing to differentiate it from the competition. The service and other odd practices noted above will probably keep me away in the future.

   Rittenhouse Grille is a Philadelphia jewel !! The restaurant itself is beautiful Art deco. The menu is classic American steakhouse featuring prime rib every day. Mine was perfect medium rare. My wife’s grilled shrimp was also perfect. Service is also spot on —attentive and timely but not hovering. Live pianist takes the experience to another level. Finally, I really appreciate that the server tells you that the tip is included in the check before you pay. This is a fantastic restaurant.

    Perfect New Years Eve Dinner and celebration!!! Food was excellent. Often NYE at other restaurants the food is so-so. Ambiance and service was great!!! We have been going here for years ; even when it was The Prime Rib under Garth’s management. He knows how to do fine dining!!!
