   Food was tasty and very good value. Service was good as was ambience apart from the temperature at the restaurant. It was too cold!

   First time visit and will definitely come again. Great menu. Food was superb and service excellent. Great views. Would go again for lunch, brunch or just a coffee and cake. The mince pie was delicious.

   Easily found by following signs from the A35, just east of Axminster. Felt welcomed, service was friendly and informal. Fairly limited choice, but quite reasonable for a small venue with a single chef. And I was tempted by everything on the menu. Opted for two-course lunch, which was excellent value. Thoroughly enjoyed our food. Presentation was spot-on. I particularly liked it that the dishes on offer seemed to be ones I could aspire to prepare myself, given inspiration, the recipes and a lot of practice, rather than "fine dining", very much in line with the River Cottage ethos. We intend to return to enjoy other meals in future.

   Friendly service, very short menu but food fresh, tasty and organic. Lovely views but temperature in cafe verging on cold at our table by the window.

   No heating!! We were very cold at midday. Staff agreed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe wait for summer. Lovely place and meal.

   Supper Evening with the Pie special. Not our first time here and definitely not our last. Thank you to all the team - food was delicious (Beef and Ale pie followed by apple pie) served in a very calm atmosphere. We were looked after very well by the front of house team.
