For ninety-eight years, New York's defining cultural moments have taken place at Russian Tea Room. Ever since members of the Russian Imperial Ballet founded the restaurant in 1926, it has been a second home for boldface names and the intellectual elite-an exclusive enclave where actors, writers, politicians, and businessmen planned their next deals and feted their friends' latest Carnegie Hall performances.

This was an amazing meal. Our waiter was great. Not only did he serve us the best meal ever, he took time to chat with us and give us the history of the restaurant!

We had a 5:30 reservation, and when we arrived we were told we would need to wait 20 minutes. We sat at the table for 15 minutes before anyone even greeted us. Drinks were slow, the service absolutely SUCKED. My son ordered his steak medium rare and it was well done and he was told “that’s how we do it here.” The environment is special but the food was so overpriced and disgusting and I cannot say enough about how awful the service was. Skip, skip, skip this place; it has become way too big for its britches

We really enjoyed our lunch at the Tea Rooms. It’s lovely to experience different cultures and the food and service was fantastic. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and created a lovely ambiance for dinning.

Went for high tea and it was the biggest ripoff I have ever experienced. You get the equivalent of one terrible sandwich, tea and dessert for $145++.

Our reservation was for 8pm and we arrived on time, however we had to wait almost 30 mins to be seated, and were not offered anywhere to sit. When we got to our table, we did not receive the hors deuves or bread and had to ask for both, they also did not have the wine we wanted. All in all it was a very expensive but disappointing evening.

The food was good but way overpriced even for NYC, I suppose you are paying for the name and the Iconic status.

Disappointing and way too expensive. Our waiter straight up forgot about us. I never got my drink. We came here for the Christmas dinner and aside from the decor and the food being alright. It was a major let down. I’ve always heard about this place and wanted to go. It was an expensive mistake come here but at least we will only make it once.

First it was a pre fixe menu. That wasn’t clear. I looked the menu up that day and that slipped under the radar. The food was probably the worst meal I’ve ever eaten. It’s so unfortunate the atmosphere was iconic. But when your bill is 315.00 for 2 without a tip or drinks that’s very painful.
