   We had a reservation at 9 pm and we were rushed to order food and drinks. Were advised while having dinner that it was last call and then that if we wanted dessert we had to order right away because they were closing soon. The appetizers ( octopus and ceviche were fresh and tasty) but the mains (arroz meloso and rusty board) were dry and overcooked (specially the rice and steak) They have a veri nice patio with Miami skyline views, but it's definitely overpriced for the quality of service and food

   So I decided to go to RP for my birthday since I saw the reviews have gotten better lately. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, calamari and surf and turf and 2 cocktails. To begin I asked for a drink menu aside from their basic cocktail menu, server said they didn’t not have one. Not expecting that from such an establishment. The shrimp cocktail was edible but the calamari was burnt. As for the surf and turf, the steak was decent but bare as can be not even a pat of butter. The lobster was almost non existent, a half dollar sized piece of overcooked lobster sitting atop a massive shell. To top it off at the end of our meal after the table was cleared the server mentions he forgot to bring out their famous cornbread with honey. We were never even offered dessert. Just remember when you go, you’re paying for the view not the food apparently. Needless to say I’m not coming back.

   Careful for the special the surf and turf was listed on the menu for $86. The waiter told me it was the special of the day and I thought it would be that price less or a little more sure but it came back $250. There was no transparency in price. Other than that everything was great the food was good portions were small don’t expect to get stuffed.

   Beautiful location, probably the best view of the Miami skyline at sunset I’ve ever seen. Food was good, service was friendly. We’d recommend it.

   My husband and I had a delightful lunch today at the rusty pelican. We enjoyed their fresh seafood and crab eggs Benedict. The service was wonderful, quick and efficient. We can’t wait to go back again.

   It was my first time in Miami and I just stumbled upon this in my scooter ride. One of the best experiences and the best seafood I’ve had so far. The server was very nice and very fast. Which is an A+ for me in any setting. I sat outside and the view was incredible.
