   Outstanding experience - we had been for brunch before but this was the first time to have dinner. Both food & service were excellent - will return soon !

   Without a lavatory in the restaurant, you need to use one in the basement of the hotel. To make matters worse, you need to use a dark stairwell; neither hotel elevator will take you down. On the more positive side, the hostess and our server, Jack, were polished and professional.

   Great authentic Italian dishes on the menu. Fish choices were both excellent. Service is attentive and polite. Bar was crowded (good sign) but staff still managed to work us in and take great care of us.

   I’m not sure if how they’re apart of the restaurant but the valet were extremely rude and very racist! They crowded around the car like a gang! It was very uncomfortable! But the service inside was cool and the food was good! Our server Preston was great!

   I have heard a lot about San Morello and have tried several times to get a reservation. Finally on our anniversary we were able to secure a table. First, the service was unbelievable. We had no less than 6 different servers, food runners and staff at our table through the night. Second, the ambiance reminded me of a New York Bistro. A bit noisy, pots and pans clanging but all within a reasonable level of sound. Third, the appetizer menu was terrific. Brussels Sprouts and the salad Andrea were outstanding. However the dinner menu in my opinion was extremely “thin” and seafood heavy. Scallops, shrimp, fettuccine lobster, Cod and Swordfish made up over half the entrees. I expected more Italian based foods. Finally the desserts were out of this world. If I had to do it again, personally, for the money, I would have gone somewhere else. But if you are a seafood lover, give it a try. I heard people around me rave about the fish.

   We like to sample the many wonderful restaurants Detroit has to offer, but we find ourselves returning to San Morello repeatedly. Their brunch especially is absolutely on point.

   Wonderful food, with creative and delicious combinations of ingredients. While you won’t leave stuffed from large portions, your taste buds and tummy will be very satisfied.

   Our server, Chanel, was fantastic. The menu looked great and when she helped describe each thing we asked about and her recommendations, she was spot-on! The atmosphere is cool and upscale, but comfortable. It fits the Shinola brand well, as part of the hotel. I’d definitely go back, and I hope Chanel will still be there!

    We didn’t know we were walking into the brunch menu, but we were not disappointed. Everything tasted amazing! A couple people in the party had no idea theirs came with pasta, so you may want to ask about the dish if you don’t want as much of a surprise. Really delicious brunch, though. If you don t mind paying for a nice experience, I would recommend it.
