The name “Sassella” comes from a hamlet of 60 residents known for its vineyards near where Chef Cristian Pontiggia grew up.

In addition to working at two Michelin Star restaurants in Europe, Lombardy native Chef Cristian Pontiggia has received several awards from La Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, an international gastronomic society. The Italian government recognizes him as a Master Chef, and he holds a culinary degree that certifies him as a Doctor of Enogastronomy.

                                  Very sophisticated and pleasant atmosphere for Thanksgiving Dinner. The Trout was delicious, as well as the Risotto. Excellent service from all of the service people. All courses were beautifully prepared and perfectly timed. All in all a lovely dining experience.

                                  My favorite restaurant. Though it’s an expensive restaurant and one I reserve for a special occasion( Today’s visit being Thanksgiving ), I’m never disappointed. The menu, the individual ingredients, the presentation and preparation are impeccable. The entire staff from head chef to busboy are personable, polite and professional. I recommend anyone visiting Santa Fe to stop in and experience the incredible Italian cuisine of Sassella!

                                  Going out on Thanksgiving Day can be risky for the quality of the food and the level service. Not at Sassella! The food and service were both outstanding as always and we had a wonderful time. Sassella never disappoints.

                                  We were just underwhelmed with the flavors. The mushroom soapy was fantastic then the salad, lobster special and lamb were just ok. Not great at all. We do not feel we need to return.

                                  We enjoyed one of the best meals we’ve ever had at Sassella! The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and the restaurant was clean and inviting. The whole experience reminded us of Italy!
