   Second time here, Sunday night. If you’re a foodie you will love the menu, miles above the usual college town offerings. Yes, it is expensive- but you get what you pay for. Sophisticated offerings, beautifully plated with superior service.

   Treated our friend in Gainesville and overall was very impressed with the food flavors and ambiance. Our server was also exceptional. She was attentive and kind and very professional as well as knowledgeable about food recommendations since my friend had never been to this kind of dining before. The one thing we did want to share was the pricing. It was way over priced for the actual portion sizes. Ideally they need to reduce the amount to match or increase the portions to match. Overall we still had a lovely time and still recommend as a great night out.

   Again!! Such a treat. We are treated so warmly by the entire staff! And because it is my birthday both my sister and I were treated to a wonderful after dinner aperitif- wholly unexpected and a perfect ending to a memorable meal. We, 3 of us, started with sharing the steak tartar and burrata salad, beautifully plated, and moved on to 1 entree of filet mignon rare for hubby with a side of wilted greens and a share plate of duck breast confit and fois with a side of Asian sweet potatoes for sister and myself. Not a bite left! Having plenty of time before the theater we ordered a finish of dessert each! Sister’s was a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a shaken mix of Frangelico & Baileys & espresso poured over. Hubby had The Mango - a concoction of fresh mango, coconut and chocolate - beautifully presented and I ordered the Yin-Yang Tart which is 2 tarts, one being a yuzu (a mildly sweet citrus fruit) and one being a black sesame tart - not just a feast for the eyes!! Our waitress offered the accompaniment of an Austrian aperitif I’d not ever had but greatly enjoyed!! Thank you again Sensei staff for a most wonderful experience!! We’ll be back soon!

   Celebrated birthday here. Arrived to a sweet table with birthday sign. Quaint yet stylish! Location fantastic! You’re in the middle of lively center but once inside Sensai smooth atmosphere. Food was sublime from apps to entree to desert . Our waitress Kiki was engaged but also allowed us to have privacy! Will def recommend to others visiting Gainesville.

   The service was perfect. We arrived late and they were accommodating. The food was off the chart delicious and the preparation and presentation was amazing.

   A super unexpected pleasure in the middle of a college town. Very high quality food and prep and a really nice ambiance. Started with very pleasant service from the phone (spoke with owner maybe?) and followed through to arrival and meal service. Our server fell a bit short in knowledge and execution, but she meant well. Definitely will return on our next Gainesville trip.

    Keke was a fantastic server. She made our anniversary dinner special with a sign. The food is very good and there are many vegetarian options, but would recommend adding more main entree dishes such as fried rice from the Wok. Price is a little expensive compared to ambience compared to similar places.
