The Seven Stars Inn is the original Chester County steakhouse. We may be new to OpenTable, but we have been wowing our guests for over 275 years by featuring overly generous portions of the finest beef, veal and seafood served in a gracious white table cloth atmosphere. Legend has it that the Inn even served President George Washington himself in this very same historic building set in scenic Chester County.

The cocktail lounge is warm and inviting, and the well thought out wine list includes a broad spectrum of varietals and geographic origins.

Family friendly, the Seven Stars has not only a great Children’s Menu but also a Young Adult’s Menu. Both of these menus scale down the size of the serving and price of their offerings to help mom and dad afford an evening out with the whole family.

All major credit cards are welcomed.

There were 4 of us at dinner. It took a while before we were approached by our server. We ordered drinks. My friend specifically asked for gin and tonic with lemon. It came with a lime. I specifically ordered caesar salad with EXTRA dressing on the side. There was no extra dressing and I had to wait a while before I could get the server's attention to get more. One of my friends saw our order brought out from the kitchen. It sat there for quite a while before our server delivered it to our table. When we finally got it, the food was cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen to be reheated. One of the steaks was not correctly cooked to order. My friend ordered a second gin and tonic and had to remind the server about it. Overall, our server was not very friendly and appeared put out when we asked questions. In the men's room there were two urinals, and both were out of order covered with plastic bags. The carpets looked old, worn and dirty. Details like this make a difference. The average rating for the 4 of us, on a scale of 1 to 10, was 4. The service, the food, and the overall restaurant has gone downhill. I've been to 7 Stars quite a number of times, but last night was terrible. Not sure I'll give it another try.

I ordered the large prime rib cut...medium. it came out about twice the size as I remember...slow night, place was nearly empty. I'm certain that's why the portion. However, it was well done for about 60% of the cut, medium rare for about 30% and medium only about 10%. For the price ($98) and their past performance, I expected better. If it wasn't for the fact my wife was taking me out for my birthday, I'd have sent it back. As a preface. I have been dining there since the late 1970s and I remember it was always packed. Sad to see it empty, but I can't help think it's because the prices are extraordinarily high and the food quality has declined. For example, my wife and I always get the Crab Cocktail as our appetizer. In the past, it always came in a fancy glass over shaved ice which kept it nicely chilled. This time, it was unappealing on a flat plate strewn with chopped lettuce..and it had a fishy odor. Having had a second home in the Florida Keys for 20 years, fishing and diving, I know without a doubt fresh seafood does not smell fishy. Sadly, after so many years having relished the 7 Stars experience, we are probably done.

It had been many years since we dined here. The portions remained huge and prices kept up with inflation. My entree arrived with ice cold hollandaise sauce which was disappointing. Server was good but never came back to check on how things came out.

When you dine out on New Years Eve you are taking a big chance Menu prices are much higher service is rushed and honestly there were some issues with proper cooking of our seafood Twin lobster tails at $98. Jumbo tail at $128. a small portion of seafood assortment at $62. appetizer was $20. (stuffed mushrooms and they were delicious) and a slice each of peanut butter pie and oreo cheesecake at $10. each Next year we will consider other options

This was one of the most disappointing meals I have had in a long long time. Christmas Eve out seems like a great idea. I wanted to go to my favorite restaurant, Seven Stars. It had been well over a year since i was there last, but over the last 40 years i have been these a hundred times. The portion size is still a staple but the quality has changed significantly. I suspect new ownership has been cutting corners. I love the place so much I got engaged there twice and over time have spent my most important celebrations there. Tonight was terrible. My sons $45 veal parm was not even edible, my wifes seafood mix for $65 was like leftovers at best; she left half of the meal in the small bowl. I never send food back, but my steak was room temp at best. For $80 i expect way more. The garlic mashed was terrible, the ceasar salad was Ponderosa level, with a ceasar bottle italian dressing ruining it all. Of course it was busy and our reservation was for 645 and we did not get our food until 9PM.. yep 9 PM. They had no rolls and we got 5 packs of crackers and a small bowl of cheddar spread. The service was fine, it was everything else that ruined by Christmas eve. I am so so dispappointed that after 40 years, I have to stop telling my friends it is my favorite place. WHoever owns it now, obviously has no idea how to run a restaurant. I suspect it is only a matter of time before it is resold or goes out of business. Thanks for the memories but unless something drastic happens it sadly will be lost to time.
