The 'original' Shark Fin Restaurant was established in 1980 at the top end of the little Bourke Street. Close to the Parliament Station, Shark Fin Inn achieves it's excellence by serving the finest Cantonese food at affordable prices. With lunchtime Yum Cha, takeaway service and an extensive a La Carte and banquet menus, Shark Fin Inn has remained favourite of many despite some strong neighbouring contenders over the years. It gives customers a good chance to savour the famous dishes from Hong Kong without the expensive price tag of the air ticket - or the meal. Close to different bars, cafes and theatres and open until 1.30am daily, Shark Fin Inn is the best place for family gathering, business acquaintance, celebrating special occasions and late supper after a night out.

We have dined here many times over the years. Always great food and reasonably priced. Walking distance from Parliament station.

Shark Fin Inn in Melbourne delivers superb food promptly. We had the Banquet and, even though the place was full, the dishes came out in a timely fashion. At under $10 per item it is a bargain compared to Pub meals and most restaurants. Been there twice now and the food is truly excellent, extra yummy, and of a consistent standard. Highly recommend!

Once again excellent food and service been coming here since Shark Fin House closed during co covid great ambience and had some first time Yum Cha guests were very impressed

Always a great value yum Cha , love the food! but get there at 22.00 as they will try to push you out early if up stairs

Such a different place compared to Shark Fin in Keysborough, which is amazing. This Sjhark Fin was awful. The atmosphere was great however tables are out of range of the trolleys, the food that came around was the same for the full hour we were there. Maybe 10 different dishes came past. So very disappointing when we have been to Keysborough countless times and loved it and expected the same or very similar when we went to the City.

We had a friend visiting from Sydney and had remembered the Shark Fin Inn as a virtual institution in Melbourne for Yum Cha. But we were very disappointed in the experience. The food was not up to the standard we had remembered, service was perfunctory and the venue is tired.

Shark Fin Inn serves classic dim sum from trolleys. There are many choices, and the dim sum is skillfully made. It has been a favorite place for yum cha for a long time. The staff is pleasant and attentive.
