The 'original' Shark Fin Restaurant was established in 1980 at the top end of the little Bourke Street. Close to the Parliament Station, Shark Fin Inn achieves it's excellence by serving the finest Cantonese food at affordable prices. With lunchtime Yum Cha, takeaway service and an extensive a La Carte and banquet menus, Shark Fin Inn has remained favourite of many despite some strong neighbouring contenders over the years. It gives customers a good chance to savour the famous dishes from Hong Kong without the expensive price tag of the air ticket - or the meal. Close to different bars, cafes and theatres and open until 1.30am daily, Shark Fin Inn is the best place for family gathering, business acquaintance, celebrating special occasions and late supper after a night out.

An excellent Yum Cha experience on the traditionally busiest day for this type of dining (Sunday). Wide choice of dishes served at right temperature which is not always the case at other venues. Very attentive wait staff.

Our group with varying experiences of Yum Cha were extremely pleased with the quality service and food of the Shark Finn Inn. Efficient pleasant staff and delicious offerings of yum cha at a reasonable cost. Elevated our day out into a special experience.

Always a Brilliant place to have Yum Cha. Shark Fin Inn is a True Melbourne institution! The food is always freshly prepared and very tasty. I've never been disappointed when I eat there. I'm always proud to introduce this wonderful restaurant to my friends, especially for Yum Cha. If are ever in the area it is a must go for a complete Yum Cha Experience!
