   My daughter and I had a very enjoyable dining experience at the sushi bar Friday night. The seafood taste, variety and quality were all excellent, with a decent number of higher end choices available. Service was top notch both behind the counter and on the floor. Our Sushi Chef was friendly and helpful making our selections, and the waiter was attentive throughout our dinner. I would highly recommend giving this new location of Shimogamo a try! NOTE: As some reviewers have observed, we did find service to be somewhat hit-or-miss when they first opened this location, which was a letdown if you were accustomed to dining at the original location. They appear to be past that, as it was a full house on both the tables and Sushi bar when we dined and service was excellent throughout the evening.

   Sushi was amazing, best to go early as it got busy and is a smaller restaurant compared to others in neighborhood.

   The Sushi was exceptional. The pork cats was average and the Ramen is not something I would order again

   Disappointment. Service was disorganized and I was overcharged. When I called they were dismissive. They did give a refund but since the service that night was terrible and all the rolls tasted the same. I won't go back. I see all of the nice reviews and wonder ... Is this their first visit to a sushi restaurant and therefore are easily impressed? or are they so used to bland flavors and poor service that they are oblivious to the amazing choices nearby that are so so much better.

   First time diner and absolutely stunning experience! We sat at the counter with Tak, engaging interesting friendly and incredibly skilled artist. To watch him work was a joy - we were transfixed. Jared our server very kind and knowledgeable. Started off with cocktails- the old fashioned with wagyu fat washed Japanese whiskey was legit the best OF I’ve ever had. Truffle Amberjack - beautiful presentation, light fish with a yuzu ponzu truffle sauce - the citrus hits you first with a rich truffle back. With the OF, it was a symphony of flavor. Then, the Baja Live Uni Sashimi… the star of the evening. Stunning on the plate, our fellow counter diners all came to admire. The flavor was creamy, umami, hint of the ocean and truly memorable. Then the O-Toro tuna belly was equally creamy as the Live Uni and just delightful. Then onto the surface and turf roll - rich and majestic! Overall, an incredible sushi experience. I am afraid Shimogamo has ‘ruined’ sushi for me anywhere else! You simply MUST try it. We cannot wait to go back.

   Delicious sushi. Fresh and you can watch the chefs create their masterpieces. Everything was delicious. The fatty tuna nigiri and the cilantro lime himachi role really stood out. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.

    Food was not worth all the price. I expected the quality and service to be like the original location in Chandler, but everything failed. I saw my server ONCE when I placed the order, and nothing after that. One of the appetizers never came until we finished the food, so we canceled, and they never said sorry or anything. NEVER WILL BE COMING BACK TO THIS LOCATION. DON'T THINK ABOUT COMING TO THIS LOCATION, INSTEAD HEAD OVER TO THEIR ORIGINAL LOCATION IN CHANDLER FOR BETTER SERVICE AND FOOD!!
