As a coeliac I was told the meal I had was gluten free, gammon, eggs, chips and onion rings. I do not believe that the onion rings were gluten free and I was instantly glutened within an hour.

I booked a table on line for the restaurant to eat which was very easy to do as my partner and I were visiting my son who lives in Christchurch. All the staff were very friendly. It was very busy and we didn't realise there was a band playing that night, however being seated in the restaurant it was not overly loud. Considering the very reasonable prices for food I was not expecting much, but I have to say the food was excellent. The mixed grill, Fish and chips and my Mushroom pie was really tasty. My only complaint would be the pie on the menu stated it came with sautee potates. The potatoes were defiantly not small pieces of fried potatoes, they were whole potatoes cut in half and were slightly hard and definitely not fried like sautee should be, however saying that they were very edible. Overall it was a lovely evening, with a great atmosphere. Would definitely return again.

My husband and I booked at short notice, we both had the sea bass fillets on a bean risotto. It was delicious and although the young lady seemed to be serving on her own, we weren't ignored, she was very accommodating. We will definitely be back.

Friendly staff, good food at good prices. Very well kept bar/restaurant. Easy to manoeuvre around. Easy to get to as it’s not in the town centre.
