The fish in the fish and chips was terrible, and the french fries were cold, we rarely saw our waitress and kept asking the busser to get our waitress for us.

I dislike writing negative reviews, ESPECIALLY around Christmas...but felt it important to share ..in a constructive way hopefully. What happened to the venerable Ships Tavern I have known in the past? Had to ask waiter twice re status of our meals being late..he did explain that the chef had told him he was behind, When my chowder came out it was gelatinous and luke-warm. Crab Sandwiches were good. Then trying to get attention to pay our bill...we finally got it....my wife was treating me for my birthday...and noticed the waiter hadn't included the two drinks we had ordered...this after she walked the bill up to the waiter and register!I might have thought with the combination of ,A. It being my Birthday which was noted, B. the almost inexcusable wait for the food....and C. The generosity of my wife getting up from the table in order to make sure we covered the waiter's mistake on the bill...the restaurant might have at least comped one of the drinks, SO disappointing from what is supposed to be a hallmark of downtown Denver.

The service was not up to par. We needed to go the bar to remind staff that we ordered beverages, and then the wait for the food was almost 30 minutes. a table with more customers than 4,who were seated after our party, we’re served at about the same time as we were. Not a good look for The Brown.

It was my family’s annual Christmas dinner, with the location always a surprise. There were several other events happening at the Brown Palace, including a wedding, and a Debutante Ball. The Ships Tavern did an excellent job of taking care of us!

Food and Service was good. Location of table next to the bar was less than ideal, there was an available table away from the bar area which would have been much better. The bar area was over crowded and loud and not a good first visit experience. Patrons at the bar should not have been allowed to crowd the diners but nothing was done to address it. Overall a disappointing experience.

We had a wonderful evening and the ships Tavern with great food the service was great but the big drawback is the condition of the Brown Palace is deteriorated considerably over the last few years only one toilet in the men's restroom on the main level was working, a lot of the paints chipping in woodwork is pretty beat up it's looking old and tired. Oh and they've jacked up the valet parking prices for the holidays and through January.

They were busy, but it would’ve been nice if the waiter checked in more for drinks.
