Shore Leave is our interpretation of a tropical escape through the lens of our love for Boston’s rich dining scene.
Named after a sailor’s leisure time on dry land, Shore Leave’s tropical cocktails take you away from the hustle and bustle. This space, music, and most importantly, our Shore Leave team, make every moment here feel like watching the sun go down with your feet in the sand. Off the main drag, just below the street in Boston’s South End, Shore Leave brings you along on an everyday vacation.
Options are available for regular dining or the OMAKASE at SHORE LEAVE EXPERIENCE. We do not take reservations for "just drinks", so cancellation fees will apply. Just drinks-walk in for bar seats! We ID at the door. Underage guests are permitted but not permitted at the bar.

Stop by for live entertainment! Shore Leave hosts The People's Karaoke most Fridays beginning at 10pm and surf rock band The Electric Heaters Thursdays beginning at 8pm. Entertainment varies so call for details!

    Join us at the Sushi Counter at Shore Leave for a fast & fun take on a tasting menu! If you are not familiar with Omakase, it translates to "I trust you"; you are trusting the sushi chef to curate your meal of approximately 12 courses. Expect a variety of bites including nigiri, sashimi, and tempura. This experience is quick paced so that you can enjoy the nigiri the moment it is made—as soon as you finish one piece, you’re handed the next by our sushi chef, who is right in front of you at the counter. Come early or stay late to enjoy cocktails and extra bites at Shore Leave’s bar! Your Omakase experience will be $85 per person not including tax or gratuity and will be approximately 12 courses.

    Omakase was exquisite and filled with surprises! Twelve courses spilled out over about an hour and each piece was meticulously prepared and absolutely delightful. Cocktails, as always, were on point and all the charming kitsch makes for a feast for the eyes as well. Every single staff member we interacted with was super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Bar menu looked fantastic but we were plenty full from the tasting menu. Pricing is an absolute bargain for the quality of what you’re getting. A pleasure to ring in the new year at Shore Leave!

    The omakase at Shore Leave was fantastic. It offers a similar experience with the chef (6-8 seats only) that many other places do for 2x+ the cost ($85). Food was amazing, perfectly paired and crafting the fish/sushi with the other ingredients. It is a MUST for fans of omakase and the ambiance only adds to the experience b/c you get the tiki and other vibes from the rest of the restaurant.

    Love their Sippin’ Santa collab (till New Year’s Eve), and the Shore Leave sushi roll and chicken wings always delight!

    Came for the Christmas pop up bar! It was such a cute little spot. Loved the sushi and the crab Rangoons (I’m picky). The drinks were really yummy and very strong. Will be coming back but probably when it’s Halloween themed.

    Everything was great! The dandan noodles and crab wrangons are something I'd come back for! The place is also super festive and decorated. Amazing service too.
