We were expecting a great experience. The food was fine, but not outstanding. Very few reasonably priced wines. The service was reasonably good. The restaurant was almost empty - on a Friday night. Overall, not what we were expecting.

Very poor experience. Cold and microwaved food. This used to be a terrific restaurant and very disappointed with quality of food and service.

Shun Lee Palace has been one of our favorite NYC restaurants for many years. It is no longer the 'glamourous' shiney place it once was (memories sometimes fade), but it continues to offer high quality, delicious, 'expensive' Chinese cuisine which is rarely found any more. Service is always first class as are the accoutrements ie quality white tablecloths and silver and a fresh rose on every table. The decor is a bit faded from its previous glamour and they no longer offer the unique and delicious desserts, but we will continue to return due to the consistent quality and amazing menu and a desire to please their customers.

So sad what this place has become. Food was greasy, no different than average takeout. We were advised by waiter not to order lobster. Prices ridiculously high. Doubt I will ever return.

Food and service were a disappointment, especially at this price point. Years ago this restaurant was the place to go for upscale Chinese food. Unfortunately, not so now.

We hadn’t been to shun Lee palace but used to regularly go to shun Lee west before the pandemic. The shrimp and scallops tasted as though they’d turned. We sent them back. The eggplant was prepared in a sugary cornstarch glutinous sauce with no flavor. The sizzling rice soup did not sizzle and the moo shoo was flavorless. Worst of all the meal left us sick for the rest of the night. Never again.
