   Valentine’s Day. Nice ambience, felt a little rushed, good food apart from the very hard poached pear… nice place, a little expensive and just a little ‘average’ compared to others in this price range.

   I don’t normally write reviews, however on this occasion I have felt like I must! From the second we walked through the door, the service provided is out of this world!!!!! The staff are all so friendly and attentive, the food is absolutely insane. My mum is usually so hard to please, but she rated Silures a 12/10!!! We booked to go back whilst we were still sat in the restaurant. Sunday dinner was incredible, thank you so much for a wonderful overall experience. We will most definitely be back!

   Fantastic ambience,service and amazing freshly prepared food well presented. Staff so friendly and attentive. A hidden gem which I cannot wait to return to.

   Decor is beautiful, music was low but loud enough. Our waitor was friendly and attentive. The food, wow, it's definitely a treat! We had jumbo prawn and chicken liver pate to start, then the sharing steak with a side of house salad and thick cut chips, beautiful from start to finish. The only slight criticism would be for the tables to be further away from eachother, we sat at the back end of the restaurant and felt like we were too close to the couples on each side. Would definitely visit again, thank you!

   I recently returned to Silures in Cardiff, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite have the same wow factor as my previous visit. The experience started on a positive note with a warm welcome at the door. The restaurant, located on Wellfield Road, has limited parking, which might be a challenge for some. However, the beautiful Art Deco-inspired interior, with its rich red leather banquette seating , marble tabletops, and elegant design, creates a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere reminiscent of Thomas in Pontcanna. Service was a little slow this time, which was a slight disappointment. As for the food, I opted for the crab and prawn linguine is a flavourful dish, but the portion was on the small side for the price. A more generous serving would have made it a more satisfying choice. Despite these minor setbacks, I will definitely return. I suspect this visit was just a one-off, and I look forward to seeing if it lives up to my previous experience next time.

   Wow What a great! First time at Silures and now our new favourite. The ambience was magic. The Porterhouse was incredible. Tarte Tatin and clotted cream ice… just dreamy. The Service was 10/10. Oliver looked after us and made our evening so special. Thank you so much 100% recommend and will be returning very soon <3

   Often eaten here and food and service always impeccable. Brought my daughter and family for the first time and they thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

    I was really looking forward to dining at this venue, I’ve heard really good reviews. Disappointed from the start. We arrived on time, ushered to a small seating area, then waited 15 minutes to be seated. Service was slow. We all ordered the fishcake to start, 2 of the portions were still frozen in the centre, these were taken away swiftly with apologies. Mains took ages to be served, chicken supreme, beef and the cauliflower. All served room temperature. My fellow diners did think if their meals were warm, they would’ve been tasty. My cauliflower meal, was so salty, I wasn’t able to eat more than a quarter. We refused the offer of free desserts. So disappointed. I really hope this was a one off and some catastrophe caused all of this. I won’t be visiting again.
