Set in a gorgeous Grade II-listed Georgian villa, the decor is bright and modern but respects the building’s elegance and heritage.

The food, too, respects classical tradition, but is a contemporary take on British cuisine - combining influences from around the world in dishes based on fabulous impeccably sourced seasonal ingredients.

Enjoy an aperitif in one of the elegant lounges in the older part of the building before moving on to the sleek restaurant with its blonde wood beams, exposed stone walls and bi-fold doors opening onto the garden.

The knowledge and experience of Head Chef Luke Tipping shows through in the assured, confident nature of the cooking – and he has the skill to know when to hold back. Dishes are balanced and pure, with subtle modern touches and a pleasing clarity of flavour; be sure to try the signature tapenade bread rolls and delicious soufflés.

Service is enthusiastic and brims with personality.

I had the pleasure of taking my partner to Simpsons for her birthday dinner, and I wholeheartedly recommend the experience. The food was exceptional, and the staff were both highly professional and knowledgeable. The wine selection was excellent, and the thoughtful gesture of a birthday card and chocolates was greatly appreciated. We left the restaurant with genuine satisfaction and look forward to returning in the future.

Perfection in Every Bite, but a Slight Imbalance I had an 8-course lunch here, and the attention to detail in every dish was truly exceptional. Be prepared to spend around two hours enjoying the full experience. I dined alone and was seated near the air conditioner, which unfortunately left me with neck pain for two days. Overall, my experience was fantastic—a solid 95 out of 100. I could clearly see the creativity, effort, and intricate processes behind each dish. However, I found the balance of protein, carbs, and fat a bit off. The wagyu tartare with mayonnaise didn’t quite make sense to me—wagyu is already rich in fat, and the mayo only added to that. The tiny crisps on top didn’t do much to counterbalance the heaviness. Additionally, the amuse-bouches were fried, and the tartlet also contained mayonnaise, making the overall menu feel a bit too heavy. Adjusting the fat-to-protein ratio could enhance the experience even further. That said, there were several outstanding dishes that I absolutely loved, especially the fish with miso—one of my personal favorites. The sorbets on the menu were also a highlight. I would definitely recommend this place! The staff was friendly and highly professional, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.

Simpsons remains my favourite restaurant - the ambience and the food is second to none. Slight delay in getting some drinks but management sorted us out. Also strange situation where one of us got given the wrong main course but this was also rectified. But relatively minor details, stunning snacks/starters/mains and desserts..can't wait to come back, and planning to do so twice more this year!

Having been going to Simpsons for many years, this particular experience wasn't as good as normal. Our welcome was as good as always, our table nice and everything early on was great. However, I don't know if there was a staff shortage, untrained staff or a general lack of communication between the team but a few things were off on our visit. As a michelin restaurant little things really matter. On completion of our main courses it took just over 30 minutes for anyone to clear our plates, this even though numerous staff passed by our table. We witnessed desserts being bought out for another table when they had also not been cleared of plates, much to the annoyance of the client. After our plates were taken away we waited another 30 mins for our dessert, I am not one to be rushed, but an hours wait when I had my 10 and 12 year olds with me was too much. Again nobody came to clear these plates way after we had eaten, it took me to ask for the bill (been in the restaurant at this point over 3hrs 15) even hough we hadn't been offered any coffees, it just was poor service and unexpected. Food was exceptional as normal but staffing well below the level expected. I am hoping this was a one off as it hasn't encouraged me to return anytime soon.
