   The ambience was way over the top for me. It was crowded and noisy. I couldn't hear anything my date was saying. We kept having to speak louder which was irritating to say the least. The seating was too close together for me. We're were literally sitting on top of each other. I was ready to leave as soon as I walked in but he suggested we go to our table. We were seated about five minutes and it was just too much for me so we decided to leave. What I love though is we told the greeter why we were leaving and she offered to seat us somewhere else. The effort was much appreciated. Maybe next time I'll try ordering something to go.

   Service was awful. We had a reservation but were seated as if we didn’t have one. It took awhile to be greeted by our waiter and then when he finally came he was rushing and said he would be back to take our order and again it took him awhile to come back. After ordering it took an hour to get our food. Not acceptable.

   Food came out hot, it tasted really good. The service was nice and accommodating. My picky-eater wife loved her meal. Ambiance was cool with old school R&B in the background. Oakland legend Too Short was at the table next to us. Definitely will return.

   Poor service. We waited for two hours and did not get our food while someone at the next table got served shortly after arriving. We ended up walking out.

   We were visiting from Atlanta, and we made it a priority to patronage black owned businesses. After reading the reviews and seeing pics of the food, we were sold. My hubby was so excited he asked if we could move our reservation time up. It was definitely worth it. My hubby ordered the lobster fries and his only “complaint” was that he couldn’t finish it due to the portion size. My Dungeness crab with garlic noodles were perfect. The crab was seasoned well, but not too much to take away from the taste of the crab. I will visit every time I come back to Oakland!!

   My food was cooked to perfection, from the host to the wait staff the service was great. Be patient, the food is cooked to order, so if it's crowded it may take up to 45 minutes to get served, but it's worth the wait.
