   Although the wait was not what we expected, the Service was Exceptional and the Food Bay Bay.....yes, I spelled it like that on purpose was Phenomenal, Fantastic, Amazing, Well Worth the Wait!!! Based on history, the owner is family! Thank you so much for welcoming us! And yes!!! I will be back!!!

   We had a reservation for dinner, but could not be seated across to each other at the table. After ordering our dinner , the wait for the food was 45 minutes. The macaroni and cheese was cold when delivered.

   Excellent first time experience! We made reservations and we were seated right away. The server was very accommodating and made great menue recommendations. The food exceeded our expectations and was served in a timely and prompt fashion. Definitely a return visit for us!

   My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Smellys. The service was excellent and we found the wait staff to be very accommodating! The food was great! I'll admit I am not a vegetable fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed the green beans!

   Disappointed to say the least went for our anniversary. We weren’t attended to by our waitress , a young male ended up having to take over for her. The food took an hour to get to us, water took twenty minutes from sitting down, that’s usually first at a restaurant. The crab legs were overcooked no exaggeration literally breaking off the crab not in a tenderly way more like sand. Garlic noodles had too much grease, my date did not enjoy her food we touched nothing ended up going through a in n out I’ll never go back ave will next time reserve bix or mastro I wasted money and time establishment is smaller than a can of sardines still tipped my waiter but with the establishment as a whole just does better we with for our money to have experience and memories with loved ones

   I was disappointed that it took almost 30 minutes to get a server, then another hour and fifteen minutes to get our food. Some people said they waited a hour and forty five minutes. Extremely disappointing and. The hostess put us at barstool seat when there was an open table. Plus we had reservations. Try to patronage black owned, but will not be back.

   We recently went to Smelly's on a whim after passing by on a Friday night. It's a small space and wasn't terribly busy (about 2/3 full). We were greeted promptly and our service was courteous. We splurged on the crab and shrimp with garlic noodles because as the special, it was only $60 rather than the usual $75. We also ordered chicken wings with green beans and mac & cheese ($33, if I recall) & a side of collard greens. Based on prices, we were hoping that the portions were generous, so we shared two entries among our party of 3. That was the right choice as we all had plenty and even had a small doggy bag to take home. Every dish we ordered was amazing. My belly was very happy (and very full!). The only complaint I have is that we tried to order drinks and were told that the bar was separate from the restaurant and that we'd have to place a separate order for those (even for just soda). Odd, and a bit inconvenient but OK. We waited for someone from the bar to come take our drink order but no one ever did. Now, it was a little loud and our waiter was kind of soft spoken, so maybe he said we had to go up and place our order? IDK. But once the food came (which it did very quickly - a good thing!), our hands were covered with crab and chicken wings and going up to get our own drinks was out of the question. If that's the process, I think expecting diners to fetch their own drinks like they're in a mall food court is not fitting in a place with $75 entrees. If someone was supposed to take our order, they dropped the ball. It wasn't that full, the bartender had plenty of opportunity. Also, when the waiter checked on us, he should have noted that we did not get drinks and alerted the bar. It wasn't a total spoiler since we had water, but it was a lost sale. All in all, food was awesome and service otherwise great. I'd go back. If they get that drink situation worked out, it's a five star experience.

   Everything would be perfect, but the food took really long to come. For example it took maybe 45min - 1hr to get appetizers I think waiter was great and did the best he could under the circumstances
