    This is a lovely looking restaurant from the outside and inside. But the noise level was so high that we could hardly have a conversation, tables were speaking louder to hear themselves which increased the noise further. The food was very good, and couldn’t be faulted. We didn’t feel like we had the best service, almost a bit of an inconvenience. It was good to visit the restaurant while we were in the City, but we’ve been to better.

    Great weekend wine dinner. Beautiful filet mignons cooked medium rare as ordered. Terrific service. The waiter kept appearing with more wine.

    I had higher expectations for S & W considering this is an established NYC steakhouse. There were 2 issues: our server was pushy. Very pushy, almost rude when 2 people in our group of 4 did not want to order a drink and he also seemed annoyed that we were sharing 2 appetizers. However the main issue and reason why I will not return is that all our food: apps, steaks and sides arrived at the same time! At a NYC steakhouse? It took quite a few minutes for our server to return, asked if they should “hold our steak in the kitchen” then said “I will bring dessert on the house”. What? One of those steaks was a porterhouse at $140 the others were filet mignon. Not acceptable in my book. They need to work on the timing and bring food out appropriately. Obviously the steaks continued to cook. My medium became med- well done. Perhaps it was an off night but I felt we could’ve done better elsewhere for what we spent on dinner.

    Service & food was fantastic! We had a 8:45p reservation and they sat us right on time which was nice. We sat upstairs. Noise level was medium to high initially then tables started clearing out so the noise level became more enjoyable for conversations. Coat check is available if you need it. Highly recommend requesting Brad & Ronnie as your waiters. We’ll definitely be back!

    Food was ok. Very loud so not suitable for dates. Restaurant very atmospheric in interiors but was freezing cold inside. Food nice but not exceptional, expensive

    Consistently great steak - lives up to its reputation as one of the best NY steakhouses. Staff is super professional and cordial. Filet Mignon au poivre is a must try - tender, flavorful and remarkable. This is what NY fine dining is all about. Highly recommended.

    The food was delicious & we had the best caesar salad ever! What topped the night off was our amazing waiter Sam A.!! He was the kindest person & very generous! He was very attentive to our every need.
