   Smokehouse is a trusted favourite. Great food, great service and a fantastic place to meet either as small group or larger group of friends. Love this place

   The food was delicious, especially the hake and the steak was cooked to perfection. It was slightly dark in the restaurant - we had to read the menu with the light on our phones - especially the drinks menu which was in smaller print. Service was good

   Lovely restaurant and good food. Service was horrible. We were a party of six- had dinner and ordered a second round of beers. When the beers were delivered we were informed we needed to depart our table in 5 mins for another reservation. We were “invited” to sit outside on the patio to finish our beers on a cold and wet Sunday night. Poor service. No explanation or apology. Not a good look.

   I booked The Smokehouse for a family celebration as we had enjoyed the food here several times before. I’d travelled to London to visit my family for this occasion. Previously, the lamb was presented for 2 people, vegetables were presented separately. The menu has changed and now vegetables are plated with the meat. There were only 3 choices of dessert. Value for money on this occasion was average, service was good, atmosphere was good. Quality of the food was ok but I feel it’s lost it’s ‘edge’. Potatoes were hard and the sirloin was tough. Disappointing overall and would consider an alternative venue for the next celebration.

   For a place that has had a long-standing reputation for having a great Sunday roast, Smokehouse still continues to be the same as always. However, the one thing that has put things into perspective as to whether or not I’ll ever come back again is the bad service. Overall, things seemed chaotic and even taking our initial drink and food order took half an hour from the moment that we sat down. Apparently, we had been sat down in a table for 6 when we had a reservation for 3 people, which meant that the staff were waiting for “the rest of our party to arrive”? Either way, most places ask for your drink order within minutes of being sat whilst you take time to decide what you wish to eat. Not here it seems. In addition, what really threw me off guard was that we finished our first drinks before our Sunday roast dinner arrived (since it took ages) and no one ever came to ask if we wanted more drinks. It pretty much felt like I had to flag down a staff member whenever we ran out of water or wanted a glass of wine with our dinner. To add more insult, as we finished our food or drink, not a single member of staff came to remove the empty plates and glasses from our table — the used dining and glassware just started to accumulate. Overall the general observation after not having been to Smokehouse for two years is that the quality of the food is great but the service is bad given the price point of the pub. I believe front of house can improve by better communicating with the waiters as to who will be in charge of which table. This recent experience has put us off from ever returning at this point. We live locally and I can assure you that there are plenty of good pubs around with better service.

   Went here because it came recommended to me. It’s was great, a bit noisy but only because it full which is a good sign. One thing I would say is they need to work on the kids menu. I’d say it’s more aimed at older kids prob 10 onwards Wife and I had the lamb and the our two girls had the chicken Lamb was amazing soft and tasty Chicken was done nice but not fantastic you had to add the gravy. Two kids meal and two adult meals 2 glasses of wine and a bottle of water. £110 make of that what you will.

   Lovely cosy feel about this place and the service was really friendly and prompt. Value wasn’t bad. Food was good. Although the steak took a lot of chewing it had a good flavour. I’d go back again but would probably avoid the Bavette Steak. Overall a lovely place.
