Every year we go out for afternoon tea somewhere fun and not too posh! And this was a lovely central spot. We really enjoyed the Indian twist - coronation chicken sandwiches and some lovely desserts. Would have liked proper chai and maybe some spicier options, but if you want a traditional afternoon tea, this was very good, and reasonably priced, and right near Liberty's.

Overall the afternoon tea was ok, nothing special, just ok. However, no matter where you sit, you are below an air conditioner vent and it was bloody freezing!!

The hotel is really convenient for lots of West End locations. We were going to a concert at Wigmore Hall and booked afternoon tea here in advance. It is a former court building so has aspects of its past (such as cells) still visible. It's not an "ultra glitzy" 5 star but has a comfortable restaurant and good service. We had a champagne afternoon tea and the sandwiches were "up there" with anything we've had in the many places we have visited. Lovely soft bread and tasty fillings. The scones were to my taste the weakest part of the tea but the cakes were excellent. And all for a very reasonable price. Hence the overall excellent rating. We hope it's as good next time - well I suppose slightly better scones would mean a 6th star would be needed!

Amazing food at a reasonable price and a good number of choices. Service was slow initially - it took a long time to get menus and drinks. Once ordered, food arrived quickly.

DO NOT EAT HERE. Starters took 40 minutes to arrive. Food was acceptable but everything else let it down. When it came to mains, mine was forgotten, and staff was too dopey to realise thatc3 mains were taken to a table of 4. When I asked where my food was, I was told it was taken to a different table. Waited another 15-20 minutes and it never arrived. Never received an apology or acknowledgement of their mistake. Spend your money somewhere else, bots not worth risking having a terrible experience like mine.

Food tasted okay, nothing special but extremely overpriced. A bottle of poor quality red wine (£8 online) sold for £40.00! Service inexistent, in the sense that there was nobody around to ask for some water. Don't waste your money!

Excellent afternoon tea and Indian tea to celebrate my sister's birthday. Nice venue. Not too noisy. Our waiter Ramadan was helpful, friendly and warm, as indeed were the other staff. A very minor criticism is that some of the cakes and biscuits were a little on the sweet side for our taste, but overall I would rate this as an excellent tea: great sandwiches, scones, jam and clotted cream - and for my sisters and mum (who all chose the Indian tea menu), delicious mango lassi, chai, potato toastie, lamb wrap etc. Good value, great food and service, and I will be visiting this venue again. Oh, and my sister was given a piece of birthday cheesecake which she really enjoyed :)
