    My friend and I went to Soif for L'Outaouais Au Menu and had the set menu. We tried one of everything. The food was delicious, although the whelks seemed to be a bit overcooked and some of the vegetables were burnt rather than charred. The plates are quite small but well-balanced flavour-wise. We enjoyed the wine pairing and the cocktails. Because it was a) the weekend and b) the last weekend of L'Outaouais Au Menu, they were packed and we were seated 45 minutes after our reservation time. It took about 30 minutes for someone to ask if we wanted drinks, which was understandable because they were packed, but not ideal. This is certainly a great spot for a certain crowd and I'm happy we tried it!

    Excellent restaurant with servers who know the dishes extremely well and know even better what wines to pair with them. Nice atmosphere from beginning to end. Highly recommend!

    A perfect night out. An intimate space, an excellent and very wine-knowledgeable server, delicious and beautifully presented dishes, and great wines that I never would have known about. Superb value.

    Bonne expérience culinaire dans l'ensemble, mais j'ai l'impression qu'on tente de détourner l'attention du fait que l'élément central du plat (p. ex. saumon fumé, wapiti, flanc de porc) est en petit quantité en le camouflant sous un gros volume de verdure. Le chou frisé frit qui accompagne le wapiti est en quantité excessive et laisse un goût âcre dans la bouche. Notre serveur était très compétent, mais les employés qui remplissaient les verres d'eau laissaient chaque fois de petites flaques d'eau sur la table que nous avons dû éponger avec notre serviette. Le niveau sonore des conversations nous a semblé très élevé, malgré le liège qui recouvre les murs et le plafond. Au total, nous avons payé 250$ pour 8 plats (6 plats + 2 desserts) et 6 verres de vin pour 2 personnes, avant le pourboire. Facture totale de 295$ pour la soirée, pour 2 personnes. Environ 75$ de plus que l'an dernier. Même si la soirée a été somme toute agréable, nous avons déjà décidé que nous ne reviendrons pas l'an prochain.

    We had a fantastic evening at Soif. We were staying in Ottawa so we walked across the bridge and we are so glad we did! Unpretentious, intimate annd welcoming antmosphere. Our server was very knowledgeable and helped us with the wine pairing. The food was superb and the service was excellent. A real gem!
