We were returning as we had enjoyed a marvellous meal a few months ago but were extremely DISAPPOINTED
The restaurant was very busy after being seated I had to approach the staff and ask to be offered drinks pointing out we had been waiting 30 minutes
We ordered drinks and our meals and had to chase the staff for extra drinks and push to have our meals brought out
By the time we received our meals we had been waiting 1 & 1/2 hours
The food was well cooked but we had all “gone over” and didn’t really enjoy it
When we asked for the bill we told our server we thought the wait time was unacceptable but she just shrugged and said sorry but it was obvious she wasn’t bothered
More staff were obviously needed to cater to the amount of tables occupied

Real shame! Were told no pie available yet others around us ordered this less than an hr later. Wine served was warm. Asked for ice cubes to have to remind them to bring them. Second round of drinks had to go to bar to order and get. Side of fries ordered. Reminded and never came. Finished dinner, waited 20 mins and plates not cleared so went to the bar to pay. When paying, wine was not on bill so highlighted and then complained. Took wine they just added off and the chips that never came. Won’t be returning which is rubbish as was one of the few restaurants in the area which is good for a special occasion. Will go further afield instead!!!

Unfortunately it seems cost cutting has made the food a lot less appealing. The roast potatoes were either under cooked or rock solid and everything seems alot less fresh than it used to be.
Since discovering this restaurant from friends it has been our go to place for a Carvery, it was worth the travel as the food used to be exceptional. Now unfortunately for the cost and quality to may longer be that place.

Sunday Carvery
Excellent selection of meats with all the Sunday trimmings you would expect. All cooked really well.
Happy to recommend the Old School Cake from the Dessert Menu with custard of course.
The service was outstanding made to feel welcome and nothing was too much bother for the staff.
Would definitely recommend and most certainly be returning

Have been serval times for a Sunday lunch but found this time the service was very poor. Took 15 minutes for drinks to arrive and waited 40 minutes until we were called so we could get the carvery. Food was lovely as always but the service really let this visit down.
