   Newly reopened the Sooke Harbour House, Copper Room, met and exceeded our expectations. The scallops contained such balanced flavours with polenta and mushrooms. The tenderloin was cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables were excellent. Nice new menu, and we are excited about the December opening of the main dining room.

   Sunday night dinner in the Copper room. Feels like a little woodsy cabin. The experience was perfect. The server was great, the food impeccable and all in all a very nice visit. The outdoor deck will be amazing in the spring and summer. Looking forward to it.

   The re-opening of the Sooke Harbour House has been anticipated by locals and visitors for months now. Dinner did not disappoint. The more formal dining room was not open when we visited but the Cooper Room was perfect. We sat in front of a crackling fire and enjoyed friendly but very professional service and delicious food. We appreciated that the manager dropped by to welcome us. We also took advantage of wine being 50% off each bottle on Wednesdays! Their sommelier was very knowledgeable so our choice of two bottles was perfect for our tastes and meals and we were able to take our unfinished bottles away with us. Being late fall, we couldn’t see the view in the dark but it would be spectacular in warmer months. We will definitely return!

   Very disappointing. -To begin, we thought we would be seated in the dining room not the bistro. -Menu selections very limited. -Plate presentations were dull and unimaginative. -The quality of the meals were defiantly sub par. -Menu selections where all over priced. -Our waiter made our evening, he was personable and entertaining.

   Wonderful to see Sooke Harbour House back and looking as stunning as ever. The menu I felt played it very safe. Not much in the way of innovation and creativity that its predecessor was known for. That said, the execution of the food was absolutely incredible, almost every dish knocked it out of the park (with the odd exception of the French fries, which were limp and undercooked). Presentation was excellent and honestly, the value felt very, very good given the quality and portions. In the food department, SHH is absolutely back, and it’s a joy to see. The wine program felt like a bit of an afterthought, and I’d love to see some wine recommendations on the menu, or even a little more wine knowledge and suggestions on the part of the servers. In general, service was a tad shaky and a bit awkward to be honest. Everyone from hostess to the server to the food runner seemed to not really know what they were doing or where they were supposed to be. At a restaurant of this caliber, I’d expect to have a bit of an explanation of the dishes as they’re served to you, as opposed to having them plunked down in silence. Granted, it’s early days, but still. So overall, a wonderful experience. SHH obviously has big shoes to fill and that means people are likely coming in with very high expectations. I think the kitchen is absolutely doing their part, but FOH needs to tighten up if they want to maintain the high quality of experience that SHH was known for.

   Genius kitchen! Loved the marinated veggie plate and the doh-dohs along with our other choices! Such a nice presentation of our cocktails, very original ideas. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful, with a warm disposition. Overall it was truly amazing and worth every penny for the experience. Thank you, Copper Room team for a memorable 21st anniversary!

   The room was lovely with the fireplace going. We were a party of four and the table was too small. There were lots of empty tables why not put two together. Food was expensive but we expected that , but portions very small I would like to go back in summer to see view and by then they will have been open longer

    Sooke Harbour House was amazing. From the moment you walk in your greeted by the friendly hostess and seated at your cozy table of 4. The room is not large so it creates an intimate setting. The steak dinner and pork belly appetizers are to die for. The flavors are so rich and delicious. The staff are all so attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend trying it out if you haven't. This was my first time and I will return.
