I went for Sunday brunch. The ambiance was very nice with good music for a chill Sunday vibe. However, the food left something to be desired. The fried tomatoes were crispy and well seasoned, but I wasn’t given the crab meat included in it. Everyone else that ordered it at other places at the bar did. When I did bring it up, the bartender quickly said we don’t do that on the weekends. That wasn’t stated on the menu. She came back and apologized. It was refunded, but I missed the experience I wanted. Also, the fish and grits are 6/10, the cream for the grits is good but the fish is very thin. For 30 something dollars I think there should be a better quality of fish.

Presentation was good for the food. Drinks were okay. Portions for baked chicken with grits should have been more especially the grits. It didn’t feel complete. Fish was nice and crispy and large portions. Tacos were SUPER salty. Hot sauce on the side was a good touch of flavor. My hostess was SOOOOOOOO NICE! Very cheerful. Id go back.

Went on a Sunday night before the dinner rush and after brunch. The food was EXCELLENT! Everything came out fresh AND in a timely manor. Our waiter gave good suggestions and checked in on us just the right amount of times. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the food.

I absolutely enjoyed my visit to Soul Prime. Everything was on point from the service to the food. I arrived 15 minutes prior to my reservation & my family appreciated that we were still seated early. The dining environment is small however, was cozy & comfortable. I couldn't help but to sing & dance a little bit while enjoying their 90s R&B soul throwback playlist that played in the dining area. The Fried Green Tomatoes & collard green dip are must have starters. Those Fried Green Tomatoes are fried & battered perfectly & topped with a lump crab meat enhancement. The collard Green dip served with fresh homemade tortilla chips was amazing. Hot, cheesy & creamy. These starters are both unmatched & a must have. My family was quiet as we dove into our main course which consisted of Hot, honey glazed Fried chicken, Catfish & fried pork chops. Hmmm so good. All of the food was well seasoned, made to order & arrived to my table hot, fresh & timely. In the restaurant world of soul food today, Soul Prime sits at the top spot. I've been tothe best of the best, but no one is throwin down in the kitchen servin' creative, southern style dishes like Chef Royce! If I have to choose where to get good authentic, fresh soul food, without a doubt, I'm headed to Soul Food EVERY TIME!!!

From the moment I walked into Soul Prime, I was greeted with a warm, friendly smile and a welcoming ambiance that immediately set the tone for a great dining experience. The atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant, and you can feel the heart and soul of this place in every detail. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely incredible! We ordered the mac and cheese, fried chicken, catfish, buffalo shrimp, fried green tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and fries, and every single dish was bursting with flavor. Each bite was seasoned to perfection, and you can tell everything is made with love and care. The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, the fried chicken was crispy and juicy, and the buffalo shrimp had the perfect balance of heat and flavor. The fried green tomatoes were a pleasant surprise—perfectly crispy and tangy—and the sweet potatoes were a standout dish, just the right amount of sweetness. What really made this experience special was the service. The owner came over personally to check on us and ensure everything was to our liking. That personal touch made the experience feel so much more than just a meal—it felt like we were truly valued as guests. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend Soul Prime to anyone looking for excellent food, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that feels like home. This place is a gem, and I can’t wait to try more of the menu next time!

Baked Chicken was very good. Catfish, Mac and Cheese , and Sweet Potatoes was good. Drinks on point! Music playlist was awesome! We also tried the short ribs tacos and the greens dip and both were tasty. Should’ve gotten the buffalo shrimp as they appeared to be a hot item throughout the restaurant but will try the next time I visit.

It was my first time having dinner at Soul Prime, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was excellent from the bartender to the waiter and manager, they took care to make sure we were happy and checked on us if we needed anything, asked how the food was , we felt so welcomed!! I will definitely be back!
