A new concept created by Chef Royce. It's soul food restaurant offering an elevated experience. We are located in the historic Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. Join us for lunch and dinner Tuesday-Saturday, and brunch on Sunday. If you don't see the seat you want available online, please give us a call. We will be happy to make you a reservation.

Very nice… They were able to accommodate an extra person at the last minute, to make it 5, which was great! Our server was nice, not great but nice & good. Food was very good… they also had a decent happy hour menu, we tried it all & it was delicious. Main entrees came hot & very good! Short ribs, honey cornbread , creamy potatoes, & wings were probably my fav! Decor & Music vibe was ON! looking forward to going back.

The food good the chicken was golden brown and seasoned very well and the short rib tacos were very flavorful.

I absolutely love this place. The food and service are you excellent. And consistent!! I've been there on three different occasions and the food quality and service have been stellar each time. Tell a friend!!

My second visit to Soul Prime was just as amazing as the first! Food was delicious and the service, even in the absence of chef Royce was amazing!

First off I would like to say they were very nice. However, I had to send the food back because the pork chop was not done enough and when they brought it back it was fried too hard. At this point I’m like I will just eat it. My friend ordered pot roast with grits I believe but it was extremely greasy. They were very nice about taking it back but she didn’t want anything else after that, the collard green deep was awesome and so was the fried green tomatoes. I would definitely go back everybody have a bad day.

I had a great time. We were greeted when we arrived and escorted to our table. The vibe, lighting, music and energy was great. The food was fresh and flavorful. Drinks were pretty good. Servers were patient and helped in decision making(we dine in slowly). I normally give a cash tip to servers but gratuity was included.

The food was excellent. However, there seem to be no rhyme or reason to the way the food was brought to the table. Our dishes were straight forward. The person who ordered plain catfish didn't get their food until everyone else was almost done eating. It was if they forgot the order, and offered no complimentary lemonade refill. The server was a little nonchalant about not serving certain dishes on Sunday. I was also surprised that they didn't serve Coffee on Sundays.

This place is exceptional. The food was better than we could have imagined. The service was equally as amazing and the music will have you singing and dancing between delicious bites. YOU MUST order the collard greens dip. We ordered 2 unbaked to take home because it’s that great. There were 2 in our party and we ordered 3 entrees and we are so happy that we did. We ordered the catfish and grits, short rib bowl and chicken and waffles, fried green tomatoes and the collard green dip. All of it was amazing. If you can’t get a reservation order in because it’s just that great. We will definitely return.
