We are a first generation Greek, family-owned restaurant that prides itself on the experience as well as our fresh and authentic food. Each summer we would return as a family to Greece to reconnect to our roots and enjoy the island's way of life. Our children are being raised in the same way to be proud of their heritage and culture.

Souvlaki GR was launched as a food truck and has grown to four full-service restaurants and now two food trucks. When you dine here, we want you to feel like you are a part of our family. Many dishes on the menu are recipes passed down to us from generations. Please join us for a relaxed and homemade dining experience.

Menu changed, service was rushed. Waiter hung over us to take our order. Waiter said to order app and main course at the same time, and will come out as soon as food was ready. Didn’t finish salad before main course arrived. We sat down and got our check…total time 40 minutes. Takes longer to eat at fast food venues!

We had eaten at one of their restaurant in New York City. The place is huge and was packed on a Saturday night. Obviously the kitchen is either too small or understaffed because the food service was very slow. Roberto, our server was great and very personable. The wine list is exclusively Greek and way overpriced. They start you with pita and very good hummus. For mains, I tried the GARIDES SAGANAKI, sauteed jumbo shrimp, Greek feta cheese in tomato sauce with a side of Orzo. Just 5 shrimp swimming in tomato sauce and some feta sprinkled on top, Just OK. My wife opted for the VEGGIE MOUSSAKA, Traditional Greek Oven Baked Casserole with Portobello Mushrooms, Eggplant, Potato and Bechamel Sauce , also just fair.

First, my reservation was not recognized but was seated anyway, begrudgingly. They brought a “welcome platter” which included a small pita cut in quarters for 4 people. Two of us ordered the Greek salad which comes without lettuce. Apparently that is truly a Greek salad but we both asked for lettuce. They served a tiny dish of lettuce ($3) and it was not mixed in. We immediately asked the server to take away the lettuce. The salad,which I added a skewer of lamb to, was delicious although there was too much feta. We then asked for more pita. They charged $2. Ridiculous! The noise level is very high. The restaurant decor is attractive. I think the servers could be much friendlier. We will not rush back there.
