   It was absolutely delicious! My husband had chicken fried tenderloin and he said one of the best meals he’s ever had! Very tender! I had ribeye and it was delicious. Bonus is the bar is excellent and the prickly pear Margarita and blackberry habanero margaritas were both delicious. Great food and service. We highly recommend that you put this on your list of places to try if you’re in Alpine or surrounding area.

   The restaurant wasn't even open even though it let me book the reservation and it confirmed my reservation with me. If you're going to be closed then take the reservation availability off. This was supposed to be my birthday dinner with family but we went to the Reata instead. I love Spicewood but I'm frustrated that we made the reservation and were looking forward to it and then found out you were closed.

   We were staying in Fort Davis and decided to drive to Alpine for dinner. Made reservations online. We got to Spicewood. Not a living soul was there. The place was closed. No indication of that on the website, open table or even the hours on the front door!!!! We ended up having a fabulous dinner at Riata (which I would highly recommend!) They saved the evening!

   Another one of your servers were using her hands to dig into the lemons to put on glasses. Never washed her hands between going to different tables

    Spicewood has a very nice ambiance with a nice bar area and great outdoor space with gas fireplace. Large sliding glass doors provide a beautiful view of the mountains and outdoor space from the main dining room. Food is mostly good (mac and cheese was very disappointing, but the jalapeno popper dip is excellent!) We arrived on a $5 Margarita night, and they were perfect! Service is usually very good, but we were there on a very busy night, so it was understandably a bit slower. Food is somewhat pricey, but overall a good dining choice for Alpine.
