   Nice little restaurant with a variety of food choices. I made a reservation for 4 at 7:30 pm. I’m not used to not being greeted upon entry, but it was made up for when I saw my name on a small chalkboard at a table for 4 in the window. After we sat down, we were greeted promptly & the ensuing service was great. The grilled shrimp were cooked perfectly. The butternut squash soup was created with a dash of red curry, lending an interesting depth of flavor. Good selection of both local & European wines by the bottle or by the glass. Be forewarned that they do close up shop pretty early. I recommend the Spoon & Spindle as a solid choice for dinner in Orange.

   Thank you for your review, Barbara! We do find that we don't typically need a hostess on weeknights, so we're glad your reservation placard made up for that. We must admit, your comment about closing early makes us chuckle because 8PM in a small town like Orange is like 10PM elsewhere, especially on a Tuesday night!

   Food was absolutely scrumptious! Sister had crab cake sandwich and fries and complemented the high quality crab without a bunch of fillers. Niece had the smash burger with mushrooms and Mac n cheese. The burger was outstanding. Mac n cheese could have been warmed up. I had the crab linguine with chili flakes and it was quite delicious. We also had the mushroom small plate as an appetizer. Yummy tempura battered mushrooms. We all loved them. Then we were too full for dessert (bread pudding, chocolate torte, beignets, and a lemon olive oil cake with blueberry compote). And I was sad not to try something but we were too far from home for a to go order. Reasonably priced, with tip, $124. You really have to be on the lookout for the place. It is not roadside although there is a sign. You have to drive past the brewery on the corner and it’s on the right.

   Outstanding Mothers Day brunch. Beignets were hot and loaded with powdered sugar and exceeded expectations. Food was delivered hot and had interesting flavor combinations, such as maple syrup with something to make it slightly spicy hot. Sausage gravy was tasty but not too salty or fatty. Service was friendly and responsive, especially since the restaurant was packed.

   A consistently good time at Spoon and Spindle. The food never disappoints, the service is wonderful. It is one of our favorite meals in Orange, VA!

   This is a cute little restaurant with super friendly staff and absolutely delicious food!! The Spindle Schnitzel was so crisp and fresh-tasting (not a hint of the grease it was fried in) and the portion was huge! Same with the crab linguine - large portion, deliciously crisp toasted bread crumbs over creamy linguine with just a hint of pepper spice. Being from New Orleans, we were skeptical of the beignets. However, we were most pleasantly surprised with the crispiness and lightness of them! They definitely passed muster and we highly recommend

   Well prepared and diverse menu. Greeted with birthday wishes by entire staff. Chef adjusted an entree to accommodate an allergy and the meal was delicious. Service was friendly, prompt and attentive. We'll be going back and highly recommend! BTW, if you're into rustic, the ambience is a 5.

    The food was delicious and plentiful. The service was very good. The menu has a wide variety of items. The bathrooms were nice and clean. We will be back!
