What else needs to be said about St. John? It lives up to the hype. Deep fried hogget, rarebit, and an amazing plate of local beef with carrot and jus that I would crawl over broken glass to eat again. Great wine at good prices. Class.

Salty, fatty, poorly planned. Overcooked salty cabbage & chunks of fat that was never attempted to render

Seating at the bar eating for an hour and a half was torture. The bar is too high and uncomfortable to eat. It ruined the whole experience. We wanted to have dessert but couldn’t stand a minute longer. On the other hand service was good, as well as the food.

Service was great, our table was tiny, but still comfortable. As suggested, we’ve ordered 5 meals to share. Some of them were small and nothing special (still good, but a bit pricey for just a small bite). But I have to admit that crispy pig cheek and the roast middle white were excellent. Also bread and butter pudding and the madeleines were delicious! Overall it was a good experience, that’s definitely a foodie place :)

Relaxed, informed service, sublime food. Tables are close together so don’t expect your conversation to be private. Highly recommend.

A great venue for foodies without the fanfare and fuss of most other restaurants of the same calibre. I love how unpretentious the menu is - oysters were just “Oysters” but they were flavoursome, briny with bite. Obviously got their sourcing sorted! Wine list was short but most styles were well represented.
