Really enjoyed the grilled octopus from the Feast of Seven Fishes (and the scallop crudo and Uni caviar prosciutto crostini).

It’s worth coming here just to experience one of Jackson Cannon’s very labor intensive signature drinks, such as the olive oil washed Standard Oil martini. After tasting one of these savory and silky flavor bombs, I’m hooked. Pairs perfectly with the mortadella skewer or bay scallop appetizer. Also Enjoyed the crunchy porchetta platter, will have to try the pastas next time. Place is a bit tricky to find the first time there, but from Eastern Standard look for the sign and follow the trail of little lights.

Garrett and the team have done an incredible job making Standard Italian an absolute must visit. The space is lovely with an attention on conversational seating. We loved our wait staff who were both attentive and friendly. The signature cocktails were excellent (get the Negroni!) and the food was outstanding. I am Italian and I tire of the usual tired take on Italian food, this is a twist on the classics. Our table of 5 each had a different entree and there wasn’t a miss in the bunch. Fisherman’s stew, rye campanelle, squid ink bucatini, rigatoni amatriciana, and the porchetta were enjoyed by all. Wonderful way to spend the evening!!

Standard Italian is off to a great start. Four of us ordered a number of their mixed drinks, tried numerous starters and sides, each of the pastas on the menu, and dessert affogatos (which were way above those found in other restaurants). Other than one mildly disappointing grilled mortadella snack (fine, but not outstanding), everything else would be on the “I’d order that again in a heartbeat” list. Add a knowledgeable, thoughtful host and serving staff, the chef’s touch of Brian Poe and team, a comfortable, relaxed environment, and restaurateur Garrett Harker probably has another hit on his hands.

Excellent Italian-focused addition to the area and worth a visit! Pastas were delicious, service friendly and efficient. Can't wait to go back and explore more of the menu (especially the drinks).

Wonderful, well-priced menu and a lovely dining experience. In the great Eastern Standard tradition (Standard Italian is owned by the same group), the recipes are innovative, and the meals were beautifully plated and delicious. Cocktails, as always, were a huge hit (Jackson Cannon is a bar legend! And the vesper was wonderfully prepared and served — plus, you may not find a more generous pour in Boston). Try the porchetta and the meatballs for sure; the cannoli were also fabulous. And Nisa, our server, was so friendly and passionate about the dishes she recommended and served. Great experience all the way around!

Anything but standard, it's well above. The fresh Scallop Crudo was lucious, beautifully balanced in taste and texture. The Arancini perfectly cooked and the Seafood Stew with couscous was a delicate mix of flavors, including lobster.
