   Stella's on highway 267 feels like a hidden gem in Truckee. From the moment you walk through their doors, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. One of the things I like best about it is the fact that it is not noisy and impossible to have a conversation like many of the restaurants in Truckee are. We've had family birthday dinners here twice, and it has always been a wonderful experience. The food is delicious and the staff are all very friendly.. I highly recommend Stella's.

   We generally are big fans of Stella but the squash dish was very bad. It was very dry and no flavor. The chicken was excellent.

   We were a party of seven adults and six children (under the age of 11). Everyone from the youngest to the oldest was very pleased with their meal choices. We all agreed everything was delicious and extremely flavorful.

   The place has all the ambiance of a Chipotle! At 4 times the price. And Chipotle has a bigger menu. Our New Years Eve special night out started off with them seating us in front of the door on a 27 degree evening. When we asked to moved and that was not well received. There was only one other couple in the restaurant at the time. My wife had the cod and she said it was good. I had the "fancy" burger well done. It came absoloutly black. But at least I had a $15 piece of cornbread to fall back on. $122 later (and we had no drinks)we left very disappointed . There are many better choices in Truckee.

   Brian, very sorry you feel this way about your experience. We are fully booked out on nights like these around the holidays so I apologize that we could not accommodate to move you to a different table as we did not have any available. I'm happy your wide enjoyed our California Black Cod Dish, for the burger it is a very thin 4 ounce patty so all of them come well done, I'm sorry the server miss understood the request and or did not communicate to that to you. I hope you will consider Stella again in the future and get the dining experience you are looking for.

   I really enjoyed my meal. I had the beet salad & cornbread as starters and mushroom ragout. My husband had a squash soup but it had an unexpected bite to it that took away from the squash. His cod was not cooked appropriately it was mushy. My husband would not go back.

The black cod is more on the fatty side of the cod family so the texture can throw some people off I'm sorry to hear that your husband will not return.    Never disappoints. Amazing food in a comfortable setting with prompt and friendly service. Stella’s remains unpretentious while outshining the competition.

    Amazing food in a lovely, warm setting. The staff was extremely friendly and you can see the magic happening in the open kitchen. The booths were private and perfect for date night. The ingredients were very fresh - I highly recommend the black cod and mushroom dish.
