Succotash PRIME is a progressive perspective of classic Southern favorites. James Beard Award winner Edward Lee brings his Korean roots and Southern repertoire to a soulful Southern Steakhouse menu.

SUCCOTASH is named after the classic dish that has been a longstanding staple of the Southern table. While many know “Succotash” when they see it, the dish has been interpreted, modified, and passed from generation to generation for centuries. Our “Succotash” is special to us and we invite you to experience the South from our point of view.

Service was great. Food was great. A little noisy with everyone trying to talk over the music and everyone else. But I will go back.

It was an unexpected but welcome surprise to have new specials recently introduced on Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars. Even without the specials though, the cocktails, the regular favorite dishes, the ambiance, and the staff all make for a truly southern fine dining experience with a mouthwatering Korean twist.

Had a reservation far in advance, but still waited for 20 mins. Was seated in the overflow room. Waiter rarely stopped by the table. Food was great. Ordered the corn bread, chicken wings and fried green tomatoes as well as the dirty fried chicken, steak, and collard green. Really was my favorite restaurant in DC, but really has gone downhill in service. Disappointed.

We came here early before a concert to give ourselves time to enjoy dinner and ended up waiting an hour for our food, then having to rush through it to make it out in time. It was very disappointing because we had our daughters with us for their first concert and we wanted to make it a more special evening. They comped us our appetizers but it didn’t really make up for the poor experience.

Wonderful spot for an after-show dinner. We started off with a drink at the bar, and the staff took care of moving our glasses and bottles to the table when it was ready. Definitely start with an appetizer -- the hush puppies have just the right level of spice. Chicken and waffles were good, not great, maybe too much time in the window cooled it? Hot Oysters & namesake succotash were delicious, though. Our server was attentive, and we appreciated her enquiring if we had time constraints or dietary restrictions. Other staff members were equally solicitous with topping off drinks or clearing plates. We loved our quiet booth in the corner, but imagine some of the communal tables in the middle of the floor would be less conducive to conversation.

I couldn’t see Mr. Lee there, but it was a very impressive experience. They featured some menus from Culinary Class Wars (a Netflix show), and I would love to try the brunch menu next time.

Great experience. For the past several years, I have been coming to Succotash for my family Thanksgiving dinner. Great food, excellent customer service, and atmosphere. Looks forward to eating here next year.
