   I knew going in that Sugar is that instgram type restaurant all the party people are at and it is like a big party in there (in the evening at least not sure about brunch). So it’s super loud and super packed. If you can manage to look passed the people literally everywhere, standing sitting walking around taking pics, the space is actually beautifully decorated and the food (we just got desserts) was delicious….especially the crazy huge milkshakes-highly recommend!

   Food is not good. I got seafood chowder and it tasted nothing like seafood - just dill. My ocean blue margarita was absolutely disgusting - so much so my husband said send it back but being nonconfrontational I just chugged it but it was a waste of $19. My daughter just wanted a fun milkshake - that was the only good part of the experience.

   We went here prior to a show and never even got to the food, other than my husbands bowl of soup which he did not like. Took 15 minutes after seating to even get our order taken, another 15 to get two drinks and the soup and after a total of an hour we did not have our food even though people who came in after us had multiple courses served. We ended up leaving because we had to get to our show. Only saw our waiter the one time in the full hour we were there.

   When making reservation through Open Table I indicated for birthday but had to mention to server while there. Informed my server that I had a BOGO goblet email and she said would take care of. After seeing staff sing happy birthday to multiple tables and after we we had all finished eating we still didn’t have staff come to our table so we approached the customer service desk once more and they said ok. Another 20-30 minutes passed and they came over to our table with this amazing birthday sign and song and a 1/2 King Kong dessert and got charged $60 for that we never ordered or asked for. When bill came we noticed the $60 charge as well as one of the goblet drinks not being taken off. Spoke with management who removed all but $9 from the 1/2 King Kong dessert and the goblet. Service was awful. Server never came back to ask if we wanted refills on our drinks. And photographer tried to get us to buy $25 photos she asked to take of us at table as souvenirs. Second time going but will be the last.

   Drinks were fun and definitely worth going once to experience the atmosphere . Food was subpar, the chicken in the chicken tacos looked like cat food and didn’t taste much better and the turkey club meat and cheese looked like cheap precut slices.

   For all the hype this was a disappointing experience. Staff was not friendly, food was mediocre, and I have never felt so rushed through a meal as I did tonight. No follow ups on additional food to order or more drinks. We were in and out in under 40 minutes. Not a quality experience for the price.
