   Service was slow, food good. Terrible with cat in the dining area. No recognition of birthdays despite hostess and server being reminded. Apparently one had to order dessert.

   This is a beautiful place to have a higher end meal with excellent food and service. Sunset was gorgeous!

   Beautiful venue…..amazing atmosphere and food…impeccable service! Go before sunset to be treated to an incredible view. Worth the money!

   Lovely setting and ambitious food that is good but doesn't quite hit the high notes. I had tried earlier in the week to book a table in person (I was staying at the hotel next door) and was rebuffed by a very cold, eye-rolling hostess. I figured it was a one-off thing but, not wanting to incur her wrath again, I booked by OpenTable the next time. When we arrived for our dinner, we were given the same frosty treatment - by a completely different hostess, so maybe it's not a one-off thing! Our server was a little friendlier, but rushed us through our meal, which is why I could only give the service a "fair" rating. The meal itself was good and beautifully presented but didn't live up to expectations. That said, I would give the restaurant another try. The setting alone makes it pretty special. The strange thing is, we ate several times at the Sunset Grille's more casual restaurant next door (open for breakfast and lunch) and the experience was completely different. Better food (at least, in terms of value/expectations) and MUCH better service. How could the culture be so different between the two? Maybe different managers? IDK.

   Superb food. Great experience. Dining right at the water’s edge overlooking a small harbor and a beautiful sunset. Finding the place was the only difficulty, but that applies to almost every venture on the island.

    We have been to Sunset Grille many times before and tonight was not their best day. Though beautiful as always, the service was rushed and the food was spotty. My meal was excellent - beet salad and Thai tempura whole lobster. My wife went with small plates - Caesar salad which was overdressed, lobster and shrimp tostadas which was a mayo seafood salad on small tortillas, and black bean hummus. All were tasty but texturally challenged. The dud of the night was our guest’s meal - Caesar salad (with dressing on the side), 6 oz beef filet and a lobster tail add-on. Our friend is a meat and potatoes guy and his lobster came tempura style and his filet was small and cooked way beyond the ordered medium. There was no mention of tempura for the side lobster either on the menu or mentioned by the server. All went back and were corrected but sending food back is awkward in many ways. To their credit the manager did stop by the table and provided a glass of wine for the inconvenience. We will be back but they didn’t have their A Game this night.
