Supper is The Third restaurant from the Frank crew. Here Frank has taken his favorite classic dishes from all over the north of italy and coupled them with a space that reeks Old East Village charm. Wine wine and more Italian Wines than any other east village restaurant. Think lots of brick and stone low lighting and a handinstalled Florentine wood ceiling pictured in the last supper. Old Venetian glass hanging chandeliers and it's all just a setting for a whirling swirling kitchen center stage. Yeah...Veal Milanese (proper), Bolognese out the... You guessed it. OUT DA BUTT. Beef short ribs BAROLO, yup. Freshest salads and MOZZ, SPECK, FALL PARM SALAD, BURRATA, spag limone!!! Yeah... Spag cacio pepe, Bagna Caoda, Osso buco, BOLLITO MISTO, Risotto Amarone, Arista di maiale, Dad's SUNDAY MARINARA SAUCE, chunky and ripped with fresh ricotta cheese.

Chicken parm that is definitely not worth paying for $34. I know this is NYC but there is much better Italian restaurants in NY. My friend had the tortelloni over mash and it was awful.

Servers were reaching over us, impatient, wouldn’t set anything down and we had to grab our drinks and plates from them. Not the kind of service for the prices. And food was just okay

It is a major understatement to say there are a number of great Italian restaurants in NYC. But Supper distinguishes itself in key respects that make it a place you go back to again and again. The people are not "formally" cordial (I hope to never hear again the stilted and insincere rendition of "I'm [fill in blank] and I will be taking care of you tonight..."), but authentically welcoming and accommodating, doing whatever they can to make your meal and experience memorably pleasant. The food does not deserve second billing; it is well-prepared, tasty, and served in ample portions. The atmosphere is the height of conviviality since everyone dining, and those serving, appear to be enjoying themselves as much as our party does. If you are uptown, it is worth the trek; if you are downtown, you have it made to be so close!

My wife and I have been dining at SUPPER for close to 25 years. That must tell you something about the longevity of this New York standout. The kitchen is outstanding. There isn't one dish that isn't delicious. Service is also outstanding. My advice, GO.

I’ve only been to this and the original FRANK restaurant but both are excellent. Nothing bad to say. Enjoyed a delicious pappardalle w/ mushrooms and an egg while companion enjoyed the straight bolognese. Service here as well as FRANK is always a bit no—nonsense. But overall a great experience.

Great food, comfortable place, friendly workers. Super nice. Expensive, but not by NYC standards - it’s just the cost of being in NYC. I’ll be back. Great vegan and veganizable options.
