   Sushi San was awesome from beginning to end! The whole staff was great. We celebrated our son's 16th birthday there. He picked it after doing some research, 'cause he'd heard it was always good. We had a blast and will totally go back.

   I always have a great time at Sushi San, whether it's Brunch, Lunch, or dinner. They are simply THE BEST!!!! Everything at Sushi San is excellent: the Food (the best Chutoro is here), the atmosphere, and, of course, the people working there. Daniel is my favorite, the Master of hospitality!

   Crispy rice, nigiri deluxe very good. Bar was super backed up, drinks didn’t come until after appetizers. Service was very rushed. They had a ton of people waiting for tables crowding the front of the restaurant. We are sensitive to the fact that they are trying to flip tables but it wasn’t a great experience. The moment, literally the moment, you took the last bite from your plate someone swept by to grab it from your table. Made you kind of feel like you were being watched by a hawk. During dessert my friend (who’s birthday we were there to celebrate) set down their fork and someone immediately swooped in and took their half eaten dessert without even asking if they were finished (they weren’t). Good food, probably won’t celebrate another special occasion here. Def don’t recommend visiting Fri/Sat during peak dining hours. A chill Tues night might be better.

   Sushi San has been a go to date night spot for us for years. This new location isn’t as good in our opinion as River North. The fish was quality but the plating wasn’t great. The sauces were too much on the sashimi. Covering up the fish instead of highlighting them. The beef bulgogi came out with no crunchy onions but instead a giant almost half of a sautéed white onion which overpowered the whole dish. Very odd. The miso salmon looked like it had been taken out of a frozen package and wasn’t fresh at all compared to the sashimi. They were out of the coal fire lobster tail which was a bummer. We go to this restaurant because of the consistently high quality food for slightly less than Nobu prices. Service was good, the person was very nice but it did take a long time to get little things like forks or refills to the table after requesting once and sometimes twice. Overall not super happy. Especially using gift card I got for my birthday on a meal that was subpar. I wish we’d gone to river north instead. I feel a lot of the restaurants on this strip in LP look great Boka Willow room etc. but then the food is not great.

    Our waiter chatted with his other table and neglected us the entire time. Our martinis were awful.
