Tanoshii is often referred to as serving the best sushi in Chicago for over 13 years, crafting fresh Japanese classics in its bright eatery. For delicious starters signature appetizers "fish and chips" and "truffle rose" are highly recommended.

Tanoshii’s owner Mike Ham who's also a master sushi chef offers dishes renowned for their deft of fresh ingredients, and omakase dishes. Omakase in different words means chef choice. Chef uses fresh fish for the day and uses their creativity to deliver you the best sushi experience.

Took a long time to get seated or even acknowledged that we had arrived for our reservation. Took a really long time to receive service and my wife felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff by being there. Not a great feeling for her birthday dinner.

It's decent and everyone was very friendly, but it's not the excellent sushi that it used to be. Sad to lose a neighborhood gem.
