Tanta is dedicated to sharing the flavors and culture of Peru with Chicago, serving authentic Peruvian dishes and beverages in an approachable, fun and casual downtown setting. We provide service that is casual yet knowledgeable, genuine and attentive, utilizing locally sourced products and vendors that are sensitive to sustainable farming and fishing.

Tanta has two Chef’s Tables that each seat up to 10 people. These tables are located in our main dining room in between our open kitchen and cebiche bar which allows you and your guests to experience our chefs creating Peruvian cuisine while you dine.

The menu, created by Acurio and Tanta Chicago Chef Tito Rocha, takes diners on a voyage through Peru via its food. From the Pacific Ocean, through the Andes, to the desert, to the Amazon, Tanta celebrates the diverse landscape and ethnicities that make up Peru’s culture.

I visit Tanta everytime I come to Chi-Town. Love the cuisine and vibe. The cebiche is so fresh, great w the yuca chips. Had the pulpo which was super tender and flavorful. Also the Nikkei and the mussels, which my wife loved. Service was great. Will hopefully return soon

Our service member was very knowledgeable on the Peruvian cuisine and very helpful in choosing food items. She was attentive without being intrusive. The food was quite good, including the chicken and vegetarian empanadas and the quinoa plate. The Choco... dessert was world class!! We plan to return to this establishment.

Love Tanta! My favorite Peruvian restaurant in Chicago. The empanadas are delicious, lomo saltado is a no brainer and the ceviche is delicious!!

Empezando por lo positivo, el personal muy amable, nuestro mesero A1. Por otro lado, la comida no estuvo a la altura. No nos gustó el pulpo puesto qué estaba chicloso y tenía un sabor amargo, el plato llamado aeropuerto tenía poca carne, las yucas fritas estuvieron aceptables. 😏

Cebiche was outstanding and so we’re the empanadas! Drinks were ok- had to send back my fiancés and service was good not outstanding. I would definitely go back for the food

Tanta is my favorite place to bring a group. Excellent small plates and sharable mains. On this visit, our server provided superb advice and really helped us make good decisions. Flavored pisco sours were excellent. I wish it were a little quieter to make talking easier, but it's defiintely not as loud as some places in Chicagoland. Very high quality food overall.

We were not seated at a high top like we reserved it. Tiradito was very small for portioned for the price. The entres (for 2 people) came at different times, had to ask for it, and waited 5 minutes. The fried rice was overwhelmingly hot, for a long time, my date finished her dish 15 minutes before I could, due to the high temperature. Drinks were the only good note.
